Questions About Honey Harvesting (SPOILERS)
So, how do you get honey WITHOUT the padded suit?

I never ran into the Honey Bridge on Arthur's campaign, and instead found honey as a needed part of Sally's. So I found out through a friend I needed a padded suit... it worked splendedly

Then I started Ollie's campaign and one of his two initial quests was to make Insulin for his blood sugar, which requires honey. I didn't know where to get a padded suit since he's so hated (and I honestly didn't think about crafting one), and tried to harvest honey, only to be stung.

So I tried multiple things, like sneaking up on the hive, throwing rocks, etc... when I'd throw a rock or a banger, the bee's stayed there.. but I could approach is safely, even though there was no indication. However, the rock trick only seemed to work 1/3rd the time I tried.

So are there other safe ways to harvest honey, without the padded suit?

I think the safest way to get it is to get the "Bee Gun", collect the bees using it and then get the honey. ( Btw the honey bridge isn't in the game anymore at least from what I've experienced)

I don't think that there's any other way sadly, if I find anything else, I'll be sure to post it here
I found

I tried kiting a npc towards the hive and got them attacked by the bees while I collected the honey. That worked like a charm

You have to go right up the honeycomb section of the tree, and hold E. If you don't have a padded suit, you'll probably die a few times before you successfully get it the first time. I think you're meant to go through that as Ollie. Attacking or distracting the bees doesn't work, and you won't get the bee gun until later in Ollie's act.

Making a padded suit one should be one of the first things to do. Then, all you have to do is collect the honey. The harm will be minimal, and even that will stop when you get far enough away from them.

Or, just use the cheat codes to "give honey" a bunch of times in a row. There's one for the empty syringe too, but I forget the exact spelling/format for it that I used. The syringes are easy to find without cheating, but I used the code for some of those too this time around, since I'm playing Ollie for the third time and I wanted the first part to be easier without dying a bunch of times getting honey, and to avoid frantically trying to get myself a padded suit in a rush, and also to avoid having to make the rounds to all the trees over and over for honey.

While waiting for the padded suit recipe and/or materials, if you don't cheat, eat starchy and sweet foods like bread, potatoes, grapefruit juice, and berries (blue currant ones - try and save the yellow rowan berries for making the strong type of healing balm if possible) to make your blood sugar increase, and to stretch out your use of glucose syringes. Careful not too much starchy/sweet food though, or your sugar will go too high. Eating a whole pie will probably kill you (sell them), although I haven't tried eating just a slice. It might be safe if you're low on sugar, or even a good replacement for a glucose shot. I don't know.

Rob some houses to get both food and supplies, esp the inhabited, ruined ones as opposed to the abandoned ones on the map. Some of the houses in the Garden District have additional work benches in them with additional recipes. I can't remember if the padded suit recipe came from there or one of the 3 garden district safe houses that Ollie has.

Once you have the padded suit, find all the bee trees by walking around all the outer island perimeters and all the streets (while collecting plants and garbage and robbing houses at the same time), or save a screen cap of the map before you get your first honey, since it has them all marked. Then, you can strategically sleep and make the rounds once a day to each tree, collecting enough honey after about half a dozen rounds to last you the rest of the game.

Im now at the "try to collect the bees for hours" section so I have a gun that is used to collect them which does it so poorly that every time 1 sec after I started pressing "E" Im getting stunned which cancels the progression of collecting them. Looks like I need a bee suit right now I learnt later that its called padded suit. the problem is Im not even close to crafting it I need 2 sewing kits I have 0 atm. and 4 more of something that I cannot recall. I searched for shopkeepers if they are selling any but it looks like the devs didnt put much effort about the shops in the game. they were useless af. Im kinda stuck and I've started to hate this game. I dont want to be grinding for those stupid items just because the devs forgot to put them into one of the shops.

You have to rob houses to get a lot of sewing kits. The ones with good stuff to rob are marked on the map. The ones marked abandoned don't have much, but the ones marked ruined usually have a lot of stuff since people live there.

An easy way to get honey before having a padded suit, is to go to a tree that's near some people walking around. Go up close enough to annoy the bees and immediately go run closely past a few other people. The bees will stick to them usually after the first or second person you run closely past, and they'll start chasing them instead of you. At that point, you can usually go back to the tree which will temporarily have no bees there protecting their honey. Harvest it while everyone else is running and screaming "don't kill me!"

Also, a lot food can delay needing glucose shots. About 40 blue currants equals one syringe, and the same with about 3 rotten potatoes (get your eat rotten food skill as early as possible to prevent food poisoning). A slice of pie is almost equal to one glucose shot. Don't eat an entire pie though, or your sugar will go too high and you'll get sick.

I think it's 4 coarse fabrics that you need for the padded suit, which you can also find by robbing houses if you're not finding any elsewhere. The houses in both the garden and village districts have lots of good stuff.

i do this:
1. go up to the beehive
2. get the bees attention
3. run into npcs and the bee will attack em
4, quickly run back to the hive to collect it
