Game is lagging at recommended specs(even rather more)
My specs:
Proc: i5-760 2.8 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
OC: Win10(last build)
GPU: GeForce GTX 670 Gigabyte 2xWindForce 2GB Video Memory
Hard Disk: 1TB WD Blue
Win10 have been reinstalled one week ago
All drivers at PC are fresh.
All Win10 services are turned off.
Nothing loads the computer.
Game auto detects Ultra Settings, but in the game i had about 20-34 fps, if i lower these settings its getting no better, only if i choose low its gettings about 40-58 fps, but i still manage to solve this problem.
Any ideas?

This is absolutely absurd. I have the GOG version of the game and I rarely comment but this it's outrageous.
This game has the one thing extremely similar to the newly released game Monster Hunter World: a graphics option that literally eats 20fps. And for We Happy Few, it's Shadows.
I suppose this has more to do with the fact that the game is largely single-threaded, which I can't even begin to fathom why.
World assets are horribly unoptimized. You can already see this the moment you get out of the hatch at the beginning of the game.
Here's a screenshot of me looking at a wrecked car near the hatch entrance:

Now here's a screenshot of me looking literally 180 degree away:

Conclusion: Optimization is horrendous. One possible fix is to make the game fully multi-threaded, since Shadows casting is handled by the CPU - hence why disabling Shadows gives you (for me at least) a 20 fps boost.

way cheaper , faster , and easier to develope in i guess.

Which software do you use for that overlay ? looks way better as afterburner and cam.

i7-7700K with 1080 Ti at 1440p and it will drop down to the 40s with low GPU and CPU utilization. I figured out if you turn shadows to "off" this will fix the drops completely. Unfortunately, even low or high settings on shadows will give you drops.

It’s still the MSI Afterburner + Rivatuner combo. It’s basically a different template.
You can find this in Afterburner’s Monitoring tab, click the triple dots button.
The template is called modern web iirc.

It's possible to mode the game to replace how the shadows work. Perhaps you could look into the ini to override the shadow configuration so that it's less heavy shadows but more milder tone?

it underperformans because it is single threaded sadly. and this wont change at this state of developement i guess.

1070ti on a i5 7600 w/ 16 gigs @1080p here.

Even with everything on medium settings the game has large frame drops all over the place. As low as 40 fps at points.

Ye . i refunded via gog because of the abysmal performance.just wrote a ticket and they did that.

Hi guys, the issue you're experiencing here is that the autodetection system isn't working properly. It absolutely should not detect ultra settings for a card that is 6 years old, and you will experience low framerate on those quality settings.

The solution is to change the settings to something more appropriate for your card, like the medium graphics setting.

We'll also be reviewing the autodetection stuff and trying to figure out why (especially on 670 cards) it thinks your PC is better than it is.

You should be able to set it to ultra and see almost no difference - what you are experiencing is CPU performance related. We're looking at that and will hopefully push out a patch to deal with this in the next week or two.

The settings don't seem to affect performance much at all. Turning off shadows definitely improved my framerate, but nothing else seems to matter. I can set everything to ultra or low, I get a really unstable framerate regardless. Its constantly fluttering between 30-60 fps, but never really stable. Tried setting priority to High in Task Manager but it didn't have any effect. Even lowing the rendering to 900 or 720 doesn't seem to matter, and that usually improves things on my rig. Hope you guys can fix this game, right now it makes me too nauseous after awhile and I have to stop playing.

AMD FX-6300 oc'd to 4.1 ghz
GeForce GTX 960 4gb
8 gb RAM

Hi, I am also experiencing huge framedrops, the game doesn't actually feel more optimized than it was in Early Access framerate-wise, I barely get 60 fps at 1080p on ultra with an i7 4790k overclocked to 4.6GHz and a 1080ti, 16 GBs of DDR3 ram (2400MHz), the game is installed on an SSD.
I play on a 144Hz monitor so even a rock solid 60 wouldn't really be playable.
And this despite low CPU usage across all cores.

I hope those few details will help the development team. I was really looking forward to playing this game as I loved the atmosphere it had when I first took a look at it. I hope you will be able to make the game more playable and wish the team luck.

So a 1080 OC and r7 1700 OC that gets pretty much in any other game 90- 144 fps locked Shouldnt be able to run this game that looks way Inferior to other games and got way smaller levels ?

So what your post pretty much says is " Its not our game its your hardware "
