That's it. Much like in real life when two people talk, they might have a different perception of how the conversation went :)
Is that canon, or a generally accepted assumption?
I'm not against the notion, particularly for some things like Arthur not 'hearing' Sally's last statement, but... it seems too convenient. And some things... some conversations, were significantly different.
Also. Sally describes them as 'the only two people not on their joy' which calls into question how damaged their memories of the now would really be. Even if we assume Arthur, at least, was on and off it by turns and that therefore Sally would have the clearer 'memory' of the event...
It happens in the garden district, not her flat. But Arthur is wearing his sharp suit, not his tattered one. If her perspective is more reliable, why such a big 'wrongness'? From Arthur's perspective, the letter of transit was left on a dresser for him to pick up, from Sally's she handed it to him.
And we're talking about more than differences in memory here. We're 'living it' with the character. This is their real-time perspective of what is happening. Either at least one of them appears to be hallucinating pretty severely or... it's not the joy.
Could well be. After running through more of the game and seeing Dr Faraday's house in a completely different district... I think the devs just didn't bother to keep things neat.
Very very odd, considering the quality of all the work that came before - but oh well.
Maybe each Act is a different parallel universe - Doctor F splintered the universe!
Oh no, it was very much planned since the beginning.
Oh, yeah, ditto by the way. Discrepencies and weird things are what I'll talk about but I also really enjoy the game. I would totally join the Cult of Jack. All of em.
Nah man. Dr Faraday's house being in the completely wrong district convinced me. 'It's Joy' is an excuse - it's not the reason why. I don't think there is a specific, deliberate reason.
So, I'm headcanon-ing the parallel reality theory.
I didn’t mean for Faraday, more of when Arthur and Sally meet.
