tbh,imo gamer these days were kinda Spoiled by most western AAA games
can't play games without minimap,auto save,huge main objective icon,auto health recover
not mean it's bad thing if dev adding it
but,just want to saying you can still have fun without they holding your hand
Also its a survival game (originally).
minimap would just ruin the imersion of not knowing where you are.

The map and your compass are more than enough, especially with your objective markers being on-screen and you can also place a custom waypoint marker of your own. It's not difficult, and works better without a minimap I reckon.
As a normal human being, there is absolutely 0 sense for you to be able to watch a map and the world simultaneously.
You play a completely ordinary human without super-technology, so if he want to look at a map, he must (like you), stop and open a map.
