Bobby variants?
Greetings,
this is a little discussion about the Bobbies.
If Wastrels and Wellies have different clothings, hair styles, skin color and so on, why are the Bobbies a "copy-n-paste"? Are they clones behing a terrifying experiment? Or is simply the lazyness to create variants (no offense!)?
As far as we know is that they have few different voices (3 default ones, 2/3 from cutscenes) and that there are 2 color variants (dark blue, the common police; red, the guard); I've been wondering for a while if any little variant (red haired, with sideboards, bald... for example) will come or it's all wanted. Just asking.
Any idea?

EDIT (forgot to add this): seen that sometimes a Bobby can carry a Bobby Hat as a rare collectible item, why can't he be hatless once you pick up it? It would be logic, wouldn't be it?

It's hinted that the reason why the wellies (Including the Bobbies) is a side effect of Joy that causes you to fail to differentiate between different people and they all end up looking the same.

But I like to imagine the Chief Constable just has massive OCD and ensures they all look the same.

I also wonder if we ever meet this chief.

Searching the items you can spawn through cheats I've once found a Bobby uniform, which I think it can be useful in a future mission of the game (considering that we know about the Bobby Hat existence as an item that may have an utility... somehow).

Oh wow that sounds interesting. Do you think you could post the code up here?

And I remember reading about a Detective Inspector confirming that Foggy Jack has continued not existing. Maybe that might be involved?

Just type "give bobby" in the console and you can see all the Bobby-related items, including the uniform.
However, as an item it hasn't an utility yet and people will be quite suspicious when you wear it.
Including this spoiler tag. XD

About Foggy Jack? If mentioned yes, probably it's involved somehow in the story.

There are a bunch of items that you can't find in the game, but through the console comands.

Something is saying that those enemies aren't humans for some reasons (they've something mysanthropic...).
Oh, about the Bobby Hat I've discovered that it has got the same color of the beta Bobby's hat (kinda black with a bronze-like rose top and the torch-frontal medal without rust).

Just thoughts! XD

Interesting. There might be more to this than we thought. The Moon Juice Leech quest is quite interesting in that it turns out you can join but they seem to go some sort of process to make them taller.

And there seems to be two inspectors. An inspector Robert is investigating Foggy Jack and Arthur references an Inspectoor Hogarth during the Moon Juice Leech quest.

This makes me think of Bane from Batman who's able to change (temporarily) his bodyform with the Titan (Akrham Series), but in this case, if true, Bobbies should have this effect permanently, seen that you can't see them drinking or injecting motilene (and this makes me thing about them being the result of an experiment, as I mentioned before). I have to check that quest again...

Maybe we'll meet one of these inspectors or even both in a future mission. Who knows!

Definitely looks like some form of experimentation is going on. Most likely to increase their combat ability. A side effect might even be alcoholism. Or that could just be brought about by the job.

Hopefully we will along with the likes of the dastardly Dr. Verloc.

Or maybe even modified clones. XD
I'd like to see few variations of their look...

Could be and some variations would be nice.

I hope.

Interestingly, Bobbies are the only persons whose model has the hat merged with the head (if you enter a Bobby's head through Ghost mode, you can see that the hat ad the head are an only thing), unlike other people and the Doctors.
I'm wondering if this may change, so we can see them hatless - the game is in EA, so things may change.

That's interesting. I imagine it will change if you can take the hat off them. Probably only added on for ease.

I read a comment from a developer about the item system going to be changed, so it will be hard to retrieve dropped gas mask from neutralized masked Bobbies, for example; I suppose the same for the hat and other items. And I expect, in the case of the hat, to see a hatless Bobby.
But all this depends on the developers' decision to make it happen or not.
