Stumped About Thomasina House [SOLVED]

This is probably going to have spoilers.

I'm at a loss as to what I'm supposed to do here. It seems very important to the game, because it keeps appearing in every playthrough I do. It's a three-story building full of old ladies who dress the same and some freaky s*** in the final bedroom. If there's a missions here, I can't figure out how to unlock it, but I can pick up all six cat statues and open all but one portrait safe. I don't know where to get the code for the final safe or how to interact with the freaky s*** upstairs.

I've tried talking to all the shop keepers, killing all the old ladies and looting their corpses, going to the dig spots I discovered in the house, taking all the cat statues and the creepy doll, looting everything in the house, turning on all the TVs, wearing the Suit of Blending and the Sneakers, using Crash Syringes on the old lady upstairs, killing the rat, taking the cake notes, playing the piano, powered on the Commliment Machine, eaten the strange mushroom in the freaky room upstairs, and many other things I'm forgetting to mention probably. Not all of this was done at once - I had to do several playthroughs for all of it, but I still can't figure out what to do.

Does anyone know what I have to do here?

EDIT 1: Found the code to the safe under one of the beds. I don't know if I just missed it or if it finally spawned.

to elaborate on what was already said, some of the paintings are searchable. if you hover over the ones that are, you will get the option to "open"

I've already searched all the paintings, except the rat one because I can't open it. I already explained this, though, and I called them "portrait safes". What am I supposed to do withall these cat statues anyway?

do you have the quest its form the odds and bits shop you get it after the first one

Oh, it must have glitched out then, because it didn't give me the quest when I went to him a second time. I'll go do that right now.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was thinking of a different vendor. I hadn't even collected the golden records right away, so it's no wonder I wasn't getting the task.

The real statue should be hidden inside one of the paintings in that house.
