Some early observations/problems
Hey guys,

really liked the demo and was looking forward to the release.
However, I did notice some problems... maybe this will help fix bugs or help others to work around them.

1. No gamepad support
Sure it's not a bug. I seem to remember playing the demo with a controller? Is this planned for the near future? Would prefer it.

2. When starting the game with DirectX12, only about a quarter of the game fits onto my screen, and I can't change any settings that way, so AltF4 is the only way out.

3. This does not happen in DirectX11... here, the resolution/game fits the screen. However, if the game is set to full screen mode and I alt tab out and then go back to the game, it's in 4K resolution again, not fitting the screen, requiring to restart the game. This does not occur in windowed fullscreen

4. On the first 5 loads, I couldnt craft. I would hover over the blueprint with mats in my backpack, held the correct mouse button, but wouldn't craft. The tooltip disappeared while holding the button, but no crafting. I am not sure HOW I fixed this, but it may be that this disappeared after I changed the game to windowed fullscreen? I was trying to fix the alt/tab problem and changed that setting, and suddenly, crafting worked.

Thanks a lot for the reports!
So, for the controllers, there is a workaround for now:

- Open the game's settings in Steam and go to Controller, then change it to "Enable Steam Input."
- Then, when in-game, hit Shift / Tab to open the overlay, and from there go to the Controller settings.
- Manually map the controller buttons to the keyboard and mouse inputs, and it works.

Officially, we'll get it in during the EA in one of the updates.

The DX12 issues are...a pain, we're going to see what can be done to fix that.
The unable to craft is (I think) related to this in some way, there is some oddness going on the first few times that you play the game, however, after restarting a few times the game "sorts itself out" and the bug does not return.

Use the file GameUserSettings.ini to edit what is not working. Unreal Engine allow for a tons of tweaks by .ini files.

Seek everything that is releated to the ResolutionSizeX and Y and put in what you need.

Also seek any ScreenMode code. 2 is WINDOWED, 1 should be WINDOWED-FULL and 0 should be FULLSCREEN (i don't remember if it is 1-2-3 or 0-1-2).

Ok, so for now we've entirely disabled DX12, unfortunately there are far too many issues coming from UE itself.

We are working to (try) to fix it, and if possible, we will re-enable it, however, for now it's been the source of far (far) too many bugs.

Why so? The game worked fine for me. You can choose the mode when you start the game, so i see no reason to do that.
