Can't find clay
I need to find clay for a quest but I've explored all over and not found anything at all. None of the locations show it as a resource either.

We can make it on the stone processing table, so please do your best!
have you found the bone lockpick ?

Can be made at the key production table. Recipes can be purchased by completing other uncompleted guild quests!

Dear developers, I am currently having a problem.
I am having a great deal of trouble figuring out how to get the left most material out of the furnace.
I would be grateful if you could give me some hints.
I am stuck because I cannot make the pickaxe needed to find the symbols in the main quest.
So to sum up to make clay for the starting quest we need a stone processing table which can be bouight if we complete another of the starting quests. Of the other starting quests that I tried one requires two lockspicks that can be created on the lock pick crafting table, which can be procured by completing one of the starrting quests. The other two are "go to the yellow line" (which I haven't done as that feels like the leveling up kind of thing to do and I've got ♥♥♥♥ equipment due to the last quest "Fight a raid boss in ridiculously tight corners and don't let his oneshot attack that has shorter cooldown than your dodge" ... which as quests go is pure ♥♥♥♥♥.)

Mayhaps the devs might be convinced of a slightly less steep introductory curve?
Bone lickpicks are made on the Locksmith Table T1. The headhunter's leader quest would have given you enough headhunter faction points to buy that table. Unless you spent the points on something else. The keys are made with strange fish bones. I haven't found any other containers that require the bone lockpicks, other then the one container on the transportation manager's quest. I made about 5 extra bone lockpicks, and then dismantled the bench for space.

Clay is made on a Stonemason T1 table.

The "leftmost" item needed for forges is called a fomalhuat fragment. Those drop from killing a creature called a "voidborn". They're found at stone circle locations on the yellow track. The creature is trapped inside an area surrounded by 5 huge curving stone fangs. There also may be nightguants flapping silently in place on the outer edges of the stone circle.

The voidborn can't leave the circle, and if you run outside it loses agro and returns to the center. The nightgaunts don't even react to the player, even if you walk up in front of them and hit them with melee weapons. As long as you're there, you might as well kill the nightgaunts for some free "writhing tail". Not 100% guarantee that they drop it every time.

But... the problem is the voidborn are completely immune to normal weapon damage, arrows, or normal bullets. Even the darkbolt dark gift won't damage them.

You need to either make aetheric weapons, which requires having the log workbench Tier 2, and the Aetheric workstation. Then you need cthonian roots from the trees on the yellow track, red iridescent dust and aether spheres. You can get the last two easily from dimensional shamblers found in caves on the green track.

Or you need to unlock a dark gift that counts as magic damage. The "snap wave" dark gift will damage voidborn. You'll need to trap clawed cold ones (3 IIRC). They need iron chain nets, but can be caged in a regular wooden T1 cage. Iron chain nets drop as loot occasionally.

Then you'd need to find 4 dagon statues on the green track, to purchase snap wave (after the sacrifices).

Of the two paths, I was able to unlock "snap wave" WAY before I was ever able to make aetheric weapons.
