Absolute Drift
Xbox One Controller Windows 10 Fix
Took me a while to find this so thought I'd share as I've been able to finally enjoy Absolute Drift!

Follw These Steps:

Open Device Manager
Right Click "Xbox One Controller"
Select Update Driver Software
Browse on my PC
Let me pick from a list
"Microsoft Xbox One Controller"

The "Xbox One Controller" driver doesn't work, but the "Microsoft Xbox One Controller" does.

This fixed it for me instantly!

Anyone have success with the Xbox One controller using the wireless dongle? The dongle shows up in network devices and not as a separate Xbox Controller entry in device manager.

Had problems with drifting, no other drivers available in Device manager. Got it working fine with the following:
1) Install the "Xbox Accessories" app from the Windows 10 Store (go to start menu and type Store, open store, search for "Xbox Accessories", it should come up).
2) Open "Xbox Accessories" app with controller connected (mine was connected via USB).
3) App has option to update controller, click this button. After updating, the app said it wasn't able to update my controller, but on loading games I was previously having issues with the drifting has ceased.

Hope this helps.

i was able to get this working by downloading the drivers as mentioned & applying them via device manager to a wired xbox one controller. eg:

Using the controller WITH the cord go into device manager > Xbox Peripherals > Xbox One Controller > Update Driver Software > Browse my computer... > Let me pick from a list... > Untick "Show compatible hardware" > Select "Microsoft Xbox One Controller".

If the "Microsoft Xbox One Controller" option isnt available then download the drivers[support.xbox.com] under the "Windows 8.1 and Windows 7" Section (Even if you're on Windows 10). Then repeat the previous process.

Annoyingly this was suggested on the common issues page but i beleive it said nothing about the controller needing to be plugged in.
When its wireless it is not detected as an Xbox Peripheral.

To my knowledge there is currently no wireless fix, although i have seen people say the invite only zen edition beta has fixed the issue.

Just wanted to mention that this issue still exists with the wireless adapter and there's no alternate driver it seems. Shows up as an XINPUT device. Had to play wired. This is the only game I've ever had such an issue with :/

Nope, not working! have tried EVERY option here. Only thing left to do is a refund request.
mrawesomelemons Jun 24, 2016 @ 1:58pm
So none of the fixes here worked. But re installing Windows 10 did the trick. Everything worked except vibration. I then installed the latest update (1511) and now it is stuck at full throttle and steering to the left again. Also, the controller is listed as: XINPUT compatible HID device.

As mentioned, this is how to fix the issue when wired. Make sure to download & install the drivers, do not "Update driver through Device Manager", use the "Download and install Xbox One Controller driver" option (Microsoft Update Catalog):

Also, I can confirm that the Zen Edition fixes the wireless issue (at least for me).
Using the Zen Edition Beta I am able to play the game fine with my Xbox One controller Wirelessly!

Thanks funselektorlabs! :rlgizmo:

Any chance that we will see an update sooner than the zen edition? If it cures the wireless issue, it'd be awesome to push that protocol to the current edition (maybe its not possible). Just bought the game but I love the concept. I'm sure once I can actually control the car with something other than my home theater keyboard I'll be able to have some fun, but I'm not backdating my xb1 controller driver for 1 game when the rest of my library works as is.

Sorry, the only thing I can say is the Zen Edition will come out before the end of the summer.
