The obvious question is: what specific source mod is responsible for the boost? There was only a fraction of the current player count a couple weeks ago.
Also the player numbers are fluctuating a lot. Player numbers on the same day change between 30.000 and 120.000 players. Other games do not remotely change this much at all. It feels like half of china is conspiratorially starting some obscure game in the middle of the night for exactly one hour and then all log off again :-)
