normal servers?

Are there any normal HL2 DM servers out there? I'm not a huge fan of the low/high gravity and the one shot kill damage. Just want to play it how it was meant to be.

Yes. There's the team deathmatch servers from saigns.de. They have the Overwatch, Lockdown, and Runoff maps available to play with no changes in damage, gravity, or ammo count. Just a normal, easy to use server.

Any normal US servers? I'm in the US. So Euro servers are no good to me.

not alot of VANILLA servers in US. Ton of VANILLA Supreme with cherry on top Servers. I'm thinking of creating one soon. You just need the right friends and you will be good.

Unfortunately, the very few servers in the US are eFPS competitive servers and they force you to download their custom content, which is something server operators should not be doing.

As with <(CKS)>SPEEDRACERX, if you want me to host a server in the US, I will.

Check out Deathmatch Core Redux. (Currently hosted in NC, USA) Although it's not vanilla, it's an attempt to normalize on how the game has evolved.

The last time I checked these servers were full of bots and only a few to none real players.

What's the fun in a multiplayer online game playing against bots who repeat same movements over and over again and are very predictable other than for training? Only enjoyable moments is to watch them get stuck in a corner and then struggling to get out lol...

Saigns has rules set in stone but when somebody breaks them and you report them with valid proof, there is still a problem.

The owner is non-existant when you ask for him and most admins, if not all, do not care about the well-being of the playerbase. All they care about is their own benefit, and most of all, Saigns only cares about money.

The server is filled with bots and has a plugin to show a latency value instead of "BOT". Most players think these are real players.

This is why you should not play on Saigns at all, no matter the game. They have hundreds of servers and monopolize popular games. They even abuse by giving so many advantages to those who donate that it becomes literally unplayable.

If you are up for a matching style where you play ranked 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4 5v5 matches you can visit server.virtuousgamers.eu:27015. Its where high skilled players play and the game is kept as vanilla as possible while still giving the players the freedom to change there ruleset for there match as we also offer things like Instagib, Spawning with all weapons, CTF, Surf and many more but only when manually enabled all of which can be easily disabled prior to your match.

Most of the group like to play it purely vanilla and as soon as the match starts your experience will be completely stock.

Yeah, I'm tired of Paula and his fellow players on the Runoff map muting, gagging, harassing, and disconnecting me for no reason, ignoring all the players who are clearly using cheats and hacks such as aimbot and instant kill. In fact, he hardly prohibits any of the rules that wouldn't normally be allowed. He lets people go up on the cliffs and roofs of the Runoff map "as long as they can be seen". Bull@$#%!

In fact, several players I have met and been good friends with on the servers have left due to Paula's clear lack of empathy for others. Several times I have tried to contact him to request an unmute from the servers so I can talk to people again, but he ignored them and blocked communication right away. I did, in fact, record a demo,took a screenshot of one of the hackers, and sent it to Saigns, but, of course, no response. They took the solid evidence for a grain of salt.

Every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time I explain this in the discussion pages, I get nothing but people against me and for Paula.

I really miss the people I talked to and made friends with on the servers. But now no one seems to care. Again, thank you so much for posting this, speedvoltage.

If you want to become better at the game you should play on the VG server. Its as stock as it gets except when you launch a real match like 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3. There's also a point system with different ranks. However most of the players there are pros at the game.
