Something poped up on a quick Google search so maybe it's real.

https://www.vrheads.com/steam-vr-through-google-cardboard-weird-and-kinda-great This page said "streaming means dropped frames and using your phone for head tracking means sluggish response times".

Yeah, maybe one day video games are controlled using full body motion.

I used to play HL2DM on my Rift DK1, and it was great. The 3D was neat, but the real game-changer for me was being able to move, look, and shoot in different directions. But flying around on a low-grav server is a vomit comet until you get your VR sea legs. It took me a few days to get over the dizzyness.

The immersion was good, and everything was really responsive. I found a bug at first that kept VR mode from working, but I contacted Valve snd they had it fixed in a few hours.

Oh what's the fix? Might be useful for others to know.

I wish i could sign up for this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKGiXLQl9ws
Sadly the VR support as the video year suggests in this game is ancient, it only has support for the oculus dev kits officially.
