What is with the massive damage at the end of the battle?

At the end of the battle I take sudden massive damage to my base or weapons from attacks that cannot be seen. Sometimes the opponent has no weapons on the battlefield left during this invisible onslaught so what causes the damage?

Hi Squiggles. That is a gameplay mechanic called Energy Burn. We're going to change it in a couple of ways so that it is more obvious what is happening. We are also going to change the thresholds so that new players don't have Energy Burn. It is meant as a counter to Rush decks.
