Cliffhanger?? Part two?

I was thinking of buying this game while it's on sale but I saw that it has a cliff hanger because it is part of a two (or more?) part set.

Developer's Note:
This is game one of a planned two game story arc. Jenny LeClue - Detectivu is a complete game experience, like a season of a TV show. Yes, there is a cliffhanger at the end, as it is a mystery story, but there are also conclusions to be made. In addition, we will take the player choices into account and they will influence the way we as the developer create the 2nd game. We hope you enjoy! =]

That makes this a 5 year cliff hanger? What month was it released again? It may be a 6 year cliff hanger. That's a long time to leave someone hanging.

I can't find part 2. Is it in the game now? Maybe I missed something?

Dang, I just can't get over how long the cliff hanger is. Still worth the buy? I mean, even if there is never another "episode"?

It'd be a shame to buy it and it not be worth it, or not buy it and it would've been worth it. At least at the price it is at right now?

Devs aren't chattiest, and most their chattiness is on Twitter of all places, but far as I am aware they are still actively making the next game.

Thanks Mitch. I appreciate your perspective on this. I'm still hesitant. That's a heck of a long time to still be working on part 2. I've seen so many promise that they are still active, but in reality, they found a point they could not go any further, for whatever reason.

I'm a huge game collector so I've seen it a lot. Good intentions falling flat.

As much as I understand and respect good intentions, I'm not always happy with my purchases due to abandonment/neglect.

I could just keep it on my wish list and check back again later, like I do with most games. I'm rather frugal. haha

For what's it worth? The writer/developer on twitter did say that the second game was 'several years away'. So if we take him at his word it's been, like you said, almost 6 years. We're bound to be getting close to it's sequel part 2 at some point. He still promotes the game on his pages.

I did check their announcement on X, in 2022 (2 years ago). I still feel the urge to wait. Hopefully, they'll have another sale :)

Worth it even if they give up on part 2. Just enjoy part 1. After you finish it you will move on and soon you will forget.

Rachel, I confess, some games are truly worth it, even if left like that. And, it is a really good sale right now. The kind that catch my attention :D I may do that if it's on sale still, and I can get the funds for it. I just spend most of my funds on other sales.

So the most recent news are 2022 ? If they still work on it, it's weird. A news per year is a strict minimum for a sequel in dev in my opinion. It smells fishy

I hear ya. I feel the same. I did buy this one, but not for $20.00 US Dollars. lol

It's back to full price. Guess it's going to continue to be a waiting game, but how long do we wait and what will it result in? I don't know and I don't trust it either.

I heard that Steam changed their standards for upcoming releases and now require a date? (Or similar,, you may want to look it up yourself)
