Stuck in Graveyard: Getting to Miners' Monument

Would really appreciate it if someone would let me know how to get to the miners' monument. I just spoke to Matt. Jenny says we need to figure out some way to get around him, and I suspect it has something to do with the tree (since I can climb halfway up it), but I'm stumped.

Never mind. Figured it out. I guess I must not have been paying attention earlier, because apparently there's a "run" function I haven't used until now.

Can you give a more detailed solution? I can't get past this puzzle on the ios version

The flapflaps need to flap over to a creaky bald plant. You gotta be the scary thing chasing nature around.

I also had no idea you could run until I got to this point in the game... Was it actually shown at any point, I wonder?
The only other time you use that control in the game is with the boat, so it's not a natural assumption that it would also cause you to run.
