Blank Error Pop-Up on Launch

The last update to this problem was from 2016. I'm on Windows 10 and the update mentioned from the pinned thread is not valid as that update is not installed on my system. A subsequent post in that thread states to install a specific update, which is also not available through Windows Update. At present the game is unplayable and it doesn't seem like devs have acknowledged the problem let alone solved it. Does anyone have updated information on how to get this game to work?

You'd need a way to bypass the patch client somehow, as it requires an Internet Explorer installation with Flash support, which no longer exists.

I just gave up and moved on to a different game.
