Suck in a semi rewind/time freeze

i have encountered twice a bug where when you need to rewind like during speaking to mr jefferson in the class room before going tho the bathroom the second time, i got stuck i na kind of slomotion freze where i was unable to select an option or rewind/ skip as when i tryed to rewind Max says do i rewind or stop but was unable to do anything.

I'm having this issue as well. I didn't on my first playthrough, but this time around I'm having this problem.

It happens immediately after speaking to Mr Jefferson and you get the option to rewind but then Max can't move and I can't use the rewind power. Both keyboard and mouse controls fail to work.

However, I'm still able to use the mouse to look a Jefferson and Victoria so that's still working it's just all the other controls that fail.

Hi everyone,

I recommend doing a fresh install of the game. Remove the Steam files and re-install. Let me know if this resolves the issue.

Ok I've tried that but it hasn't helped.

I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled and then started a fresh game but I'm still having the same issue. The game is locking up after I speak to Mr Jefferson the second time. I get the message at the top of the screen that tells me I've learned a new fact but I can't rewind time or even move.

Attached a screenshot of the issue I'm having. This is the exact moment the game seems to get stuck. I'm unable to move Max or rewind time, but I can use the mouse to look at the other characters on the screen.

The writing at the top of the screen remains there and dosn't disappear like it is suppose to.

I'm not sure if that's what you mean, but... if you rewind, you have to rewind to one of the marks on the spiral or to the very end of the spiral. Otherwise you're stuck in a slowmotion-kind of thing, like you described.

That's not what I mean. I'm unable to rewind or move at all. The game gets stuck at the point shown in the screenshot and no further movement is possible.

Right click the game in your steam library and click properties > local files > verify integration of game cache...

I did that and got a message saying all files were verified successfully. I then tried the game and again I'm still getting stuck at that point after speaking to Mr Jefferson.

Have you tried from a brand new save file or are you launching from the same save file each time?

Tried both.

Save Slot 1 has the original save where I've played through to the end.
Save Slot 2 I started a new game, but when it got stuck at this point, I tried starting from the first checkpoint in my original save.
Save Slot 3 I started a new game after reinstalling the game.

I have the same problem and I tried what Scott said.

What I did exactly: Deleted the game, then reinstalled.
Went to properties > local files > verify integration of game cache...
Then I ran the game and started from a brand new save

But it is still not working. After talking to Mr. Jefferson for the second time, I can't rewind or walk...

This is my problem as well :/ I changed the settings, I tried to restart the game but nothing changes it. this really disappoints me... before downlowding I checked if it would even work on my laptop and it should. But I don't get what I could change now :/

Hello, do you have any controllers plugged in whilst using the keyboard to play? We recommend using the 'quick rewind' which should be the CTRL key.
