i can't move HELP!

this is the first time i've played this game, but right from the start i couldn't move my character!
i know the controlls are "w""s""a"'d" to move around. but no matter which button i press, nothing happens execpt the menu keep showing up, i tried to change the controll settimgs but it won't let me, and it looks like it can only detect my mouse movement and " backspace" key.
if anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me, thanks!

not sure how this can happen. try disconnecting all game controllers (gamepads, xbox 360 controller, etc) and start the game again. see if keyboard and mouse now work.

nope, i didn't use any contoller, i just used the keypad, and i restarted at least 9 times now and the problem is still there...
i'm trying to donloud the game on my other laptop now:/
sometimes if i got lucky, i can controll by keyboard, but it usually doesn't last long...
pls help

i noticed if i press the "shift" button for a long time, the controlls might go back to normal, that's weird:/

I can not get out of bed in any of the parts where you have to hit spacebar to get up, she just lays in bed for hours listing to music no way to get out of bed. Love the game but stuck

Do you have a gamepad plugged in anywhere? If so - remove it.

Also - check the controls and make sure all control inputs are present.

I got the same problem. I've restarted the PC and verified game cache but the issue is still there. Is there any other way to fix it?

I have the same issue as well, I am using a keyboard, Windows 10, I am stuck playing the guitar.

Enable gaming mode on yours Antivirus. It's fixed

Hey - same, stuck on the spot in Chloe's room. Tried remapping keys, using keyboard in different USB and also the arrow keys (which are listed as secondary). No movement except mouse. Gaming mode is enabled (AVG) - no other things have changed on this PC since I played last night AFAIK...

I've fixed this on my machine by temporarily stopping the Synergy service - which I use to share a mouse and keyboard across two or more machines. I can turn it on again when I'm done playing. Notably, this screwed up Portal 2 also. So I'm guessing your problem, if not because of Synergy, is because of another input device, or software that allows remote acces - ie a wacom or Teamviewer.

Had the same problem, turns out to be my foreign input method (Pinyin). Switching to pure English input method solves the problem.
