It's like this at the main menu to.
Hope someone fixes this or finds a solution ASAP. I really want to play the new EP. :(
edit: saw you said it starts at the main menu for you too. 8(
Also tried turning off the "allow joystick input" which did nothing.
Arrows go through most menus fine (except having to move mouse for certain options, like confirmations). Tried messing with video settings, got nowhere. (Edit: Fiddled with "mouse sensitivity". Got squat.) Tried the "launch safe mode" thing....mouse still starts out in the top-left corner, and doesn't move at all unless I'm also using arrow keys. (Holding one down seems to work too, by the way, but how tacky is that? Hold down an arrow key in order for the mouse movement to....update, or be accepted, or whatever.)
Really annoying and confusing. Tried just starting to see if it would work. Nope! WASD and arrow keys work for movement, mouse does not move camera. (Unless I'm supposed to click or something as well, but it didn't seem to indicate that.)
I don't have Logitech software 'cause I use a touchpad, so no idea how that would help me. It could be my tablet drivers somehow messing up with it, but if it was, I'd see way more people complaining (wacom drivers and all that). Even if that is the problem, it's pretty tedious for me to have to uninstall and reinstall my tablet just to play the game. So, hoping it's something that can be fixed and /isn't/ my tablet drivers...
Do you have another gameoverlay installed ?
Also, uninstalling now. Guh. edit: the drivers, i mean, oops
edit2: it didn't solve anything.
(For funsies, just tried turning it off. No effect.)
Cursor starts at 0,0 (upper-left corner of the screen). If I move mouse itself, cursor doesn't move. If I click the mouse, the cursor clicks at it's current location. If one of the arrow keys is pressed, then the cursor jumps to where it would be as if it had been following the mouse all along. (It's like there's some phantom cursor that moves, but the game's cursor doesn't update unless an arrow is pressed.) If I hold an arrow key, it's like instant constant tapping of an arrow and the cursor follows the mouse properly.
This is all just the menu, though. Moving the mouse in the game didn't work at all. (Didn't try other keys besides arrows and WASD, but arrows were the only things that worked in the menu.)
Actually, let's stick with that phantom cursor thing for a moment. (Forgetting right now if analogy or metaphor is the word I'm looking for.) That invisible cursor moves just fine. It's like using the arrow keys to move menu options forces the visible cursor to update location with the phantom cursor. (And mouse clicking goes with the visible one instead of the phantom one.) And when not in a menu, the "phantom cursor" maybe moves, but I don't know how to "update" the visual one (get the game to recognize that yes, I moved the mouse).
(Uhh....it's like you close your eyes at a computer and someone else has the mouse. You only know where the cursor was last, and if they click, assume the cursor hasn't moved from it's last position. Arrow keys tell you to have eyes open so you can look where the cursor is. And outside of menus....you would have to look at the mouse itself, but you can't see it? I don't know. Can't come up with a decent phrasing for much of anything today, apparently.)
Literally the same thing is happening to me. I guess the temp solution would be binding the arrow keys to WASD and holding the arrow keys to move the cursor... (If I read right, you didn't try that? I apologize if you did and I just read incorrectly.) Would dragging still work then?
Either way, if it did work, it would be a pretty poor solution. Especially for people like me who can't stand using WASD (that seriously messes me up, I just can't.)
Side Note: I just tried using an XBOX 360 controller, but since I know diddlysquat about how to connect those things, it did absolutely jack all. Siiigh.
Edit: Double checked, but using a 360 controller needs something more than a computer and a 360 controller. (Either a wired controller or an adapter. I have neither. Oh, and the same for One, only the wireless adapter isn't released yet.)
(Actually, I DO have a logitech controller, which I just tried. That does seem to work. But that's really annoying.)
