How I Fixed the PhysX Fatal Error Message

I bought this game today, really looking forward to playing it for a long time now. I was slightly frustrated that it kept crashing after the Unreal logo and wanted to document my solution, as I did not find it easily online....


I had to copy the file "C:\[steam installation folder]\steamapps\common\Life Is Strange\Binaries\Win32\PhysXCore.dll"

to

"C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Engine\DB8A731FDBD5"

I renamed the original "ogPhysXCore.dll" and copied the Life is Strange version in.

It is now working....life is strange.

Finally, some help that really helps. I've had this game for a very long time, hit this error, wasted a great deal of time with the no-help publisher who admitted the problem and offered no solution and I eventually gave up. Today I happened to ask Google, found this answer, and it worked. Thank you so much YouLuckyFox.

Thank you very much! This also worked for me. I had recently upgraded my video card to an Nvidia GTX 1660 TI and had that same error despite updating my video card drivers.

im using an AMD Radeon RX 570 gpu. This solution gave me issues with other games. Instead, I just renamed the original PhysXCore.dll to PhysXCore_original.dll and didnt move any other one into the NVIDIA folder and now everything works for me.
