Yes in hoping that game devs are at least somewhat consistent with their creations this is the most important point one could make here,..
The vision in the classroom of everything that happened with Chloe? I always just thought that was her FIRST time reversing time..? I don't think she was having a vision at all. Unless you are talking about something else and I'm missing something here...
I got that opening scene all messed up. My bad..I haven't played Episode 1 in awhile. And while that does make me wonder if she had powers the whole time, it would be odd if they put the butterfly in, with the description they gave it, and have it mean absolutely nothing.

don't forget that if there wasn't the butterfly, which i think is Chloe's spirital animal, she could be dead. ;)
interesting...the creepy janitor guy (Samuel is his name, maybe?) did mention spirit animals. He said Max's was the deer and his is a squirrel haha

+1
The animals 'must' be spirit animal guides, or something related, there are too many hints in that direction to be ignored. When, within the context of a story, a character is making a statment like Max stating it feels like a spirit, this is really a fact being relayed to the audience, for me there can be no doubt that the butterfly s indeed a spirit guide.
Max carries her guide, a doe, always with her on her shirt, it's not unlikely that Chloe's hair color is pointing at the butterfly, in the bathroom scene in ep.1 it lured/guided Max into a position from which she was able to rescue Chloe.
While i agree with your conclusion it is disturbing to say the least that we have 3 if not 4 persons allready who are aware of those spirits,..
It would make for a pretty high awareness of the supernatural in that city/school and since all but chloe told this to max ( a relative stranger) in random conversation,...
Well keeping secrets looks different ;)
I would expect that in a "world" where supernaturals are outed, but in a "storyworld" where that is not the case it seems exessive ergo disturbing/troubling
I've seen the theories that the graffiti was left by Chloe as a sign to kill her in the bathroom to stop the tornado. If the butterfly is Chloe's spirit, that means she flew in and saw her own death.....that's so sad man. This game is going to wreck my feels I can already tell.
However at the same time if the spirit was Chloe, and Chloe has been leaving messages for Max to kill her in the bathroom, then why would the butterfly seemingly try to save Chloe by leading Max into the corner so she could see what happened and save Chloe's life via fire alarm? Hmm. Wonder if it really is Rachel or William Price then. I'd have to place more bets on Rachel than William. She has the blue feather in her hair. I'm thinking that maybe Rachel is the butterfly, and she also had the ability to rewind and got lost in another time dimension. The bluebird most likely represents Chloe. The squirrels are Samuel, who I feel saw Rachel Amber the night that she went to 'near' campus and met the 'guy who changed her life'. Also feel Samuel gathered, like a squirrel would, those pictures of Rachel Amber from someone/somewhere. Interesting enough, squirrels appear to be "watching" Max all throughout the game. Samuel is likely someone who is always watching and looking out for people, he strikes me as very observant like a 'people watcher'. Also worth noting that yellow birds and butterflies show up SO MUCH. Yellow birds perch on the awning to the pool entrance, and we know that the next episode takes place at least some in the pool area. Yellow butterflies outside the girl's dorm near Victoria. Wonder what those could stand for?? They obviously stand out. All the other birds/insects are very bland in color- the other birds are white, and the other insects are just little flies buzzing around trashcans. Max's animal is most likely the deer, but I don't have a lot of thought on that.
