The Red Binders(spoilers!)
I've really been thinking about the Red Binders with students names on them particularly the idea that both Kate and Rachel have one. I do recall that in episode 2 Madsen has a box of private files almost as if he's been investigating something, as if he has leads to what devious activity is going on at Blackwell.

However aside from Madsen and his information box I also believe those binders may have something to do with Nathan. We see Nathan as somebody who really is nuts, somebody who's out to get others and get away with it too because of his prestiged family name. I feel as though Nathan could possibly be recording things on girls that he targets and preys on them to make their life miserable. The pills near Kates binder and photo are what kinda gave me this theory, he is accused of drugging her after all.

Nathan of course in the first episode also held Chloe at gunpoint and technically killed her only to be saved by the help of Max, this shows he has violent and mischievous tendencies which to me makes him a prime suspect for the disappearance of Rachel Amber.

I'm sure this is a common idea and I hope I'm not making it sound like I'm some kind of genius. I'm more so interested in seeing who else has these thoughts and maybe has some similar if not completely different theories of their own! Those red binders are my biggest concern and I feel these binders may be far more important and deeply rooted to the story of the game than the disaster Max forsees in the days to come. If only we could take a look inside one of them!

Sorry to say but Nathan just can`t be connected to red folders. He is way too stupid to gain intel. I mean pointing a gun at someone in academy bathroom, fighting on parking lot and then(after your choice) he made a mess in Max`s room. And after so obvious raging he will gain intel? Not likely to happen.

And about Rachel and Nathan. Pointing gun at Chloe doesn`t mean he is responsible for Rachel`s disappearance. Maybe he is, but we have no clue.

When you talk to him after seeing this stuff, he says kinda creepy things. More creepy than usual.

Nathan being the prime suspect is EXACTLY what they want you to think. Go back to when Nathan shoots Chloe and watch him after he shoots her. He is very upset by it. He accidently shot her because she was resisting. He did not kill her on purpose..this also shows he is rather inexperienced with a gun. The real suspects are most likely Mr. Jefferson or the Principal. I think the principal

Nah, they want to play with your mind and prejudices, hence the awkward janitor, the not trustworthy appearing principal, that former veteran that now looks like being degraded and is spying after girls and of course the perfect teacher who is too perfect to be true.

True, but it doesn't set aside the fact that Nathan didn't actually intend to kill Chloe. I just think Nathan would be such the obvious first suspect that if he actually was, the ending would be a bit "meh." Idk, time will tell I guess..but I still will make my prediction now that the principal is behind a great deal of it.

Yeah! That's partially what I'm thinking the Nathan thing is just a huge shot in the dark theory for me!

If Max asks Samuel about the Rachel photo's while saying she does not mean to pry, he gets all defensive and accuses her of prying, as in "go ahead Max, continue to pry" something like that. The only problem I have with Samuel being the culprit behind it all is that he is the obvious nutty strange dude that would get a job as janitor at a school just so he could do his creepy things on the job..so far Dontnod has had it as anything but the obvious and Samuel is just way to obvious...

Is it possible that the binders aren't actually creepy? They probably are, but not necessarily.

We have folders full of photographs of women who all presumably had something unfortunate happen to them. (Does it remind you of the character pages in Max's notebook?) Max can travel to the time when a photograph was taken. I can't remember if they show enough at the end of Episode 2 that it couldn't be Max, and I can't check - but it could be someone else with a similar power.
This does make it convenient that there's a video of Kate from the night she was attacked (although I guess it probably needs the original video file).
(theory for episode 4:)
Worth noting that from the timeline at the end of episode 3, Max will probably have been at the Vortex party, so it might not be the hallowe'en party in the clip at the end of episode 3 (again, I can't check this right now).

Obviously, apart from Kate's video, the photos won't take us to when whatever happened, but presumably we can still get clues from them.
Sorry to say, but the red binders are just a game asset: sure, Blackwell staff seem to have the binders (like Mr. Jefferson), but the fisherman outside the 2-whales diner, for instance, has one (opened) on his table too. :P It means nothing.

And no, LOL, I'm fair certain Samuel didn't do it: he's just there to tell you about spirit-guides (so you'll understand the function of the Doe and the blue Jay and all).
