any else feel like chloe and max are in a weird, poisonous relationship? **SPOILERS**
i've been finding it really hard to empathize with chloe... she has gone through some bum luck crap, but she treats Max like **** most of the time yet still wants to remain her friend

Granted, what Max did to chloe by leaving suddenly and not even talking to her for 5 years was kind of a ♥♥♥♥ thing to do, i just chalk that up to her having to grow up and get her own life. most of us have gone through similar things. In a perfect world our "best friends forever" would really mean forever, bust most of us will end up growing apart from our childhood friends

So, we have max, who obviously feels guilty about all that and just wants to make amends and have her old friend back, and chloe who is borderline abusive towards her, ordering her around and getting mad at her for some really stupid crap and then turning around the very next moment and talking about how great friends they are... she almost seems bipolar, which i guess is entirely possibly given her troubled history, but it means i find it really hard to empathize with her and actually i kind of dislike chloe in general. she seems like a really bad friend

although, we've only got like 40% of the story so far, so hopefully this changes, especially in light of what happened at the end of episode 2!

Anyways, i'm sorry if i missed some spoiler tags, i'm really not sure where i should and shouldn't put them, please let me know if there's something in this post i should put spoiler tags around and i will edit it. thanks for reading! let me know how you guys feel about max and chloe's relationship!

I feel the same way. I mean, I suppose I can't expect her to act 100% best friend style after they've just been friends again for just about 1 day, but... I don't know what to make of Chloe. Aside from what you said, she seems manipulative and possessive to me, with the "let's go shoot things even though guns freak you out" and "if you'd rather talk on the phone with Kate for 15 seconds than hang out with me..."

I can't say I understand her behaviour. But then again, I've never been in a position to lose one long time friend, then gain another and then also lose THEM years later, and then get my first best friend back. So she could just be scared of Max pulling away or something. But I think she seems "genuinely unstable", as Max would say... That's just my opinion, though.

But I'm glad Max is at least standing up to her in a way, by telling Chloe that she can't just keep getting mad at her all the time over stupid ♥♥♥♥ (ep2). And I hope we get to see some serious character development over the next 3 episodes, which I cannot wait to play!

If you have a good friend you possibly accept quite a lot of bad manners,
may be more than you should.
But if you feel content, you might just stand up and tell your friend what is okay and what not.
Here in this story, death is "iminent" several times and this could make you even more forgiving.

I guess for max the question is how to keep friendship with Chloe while standing her ground.
But i don´t expect her life getting calmer and less threatening any time soon.
ok, well, i'm getting a little meta here, but Max is in a unique position to be able to stand up to Chloe in any way she sees fit... and if it doesn't work out like she wants it to, or chloe responds badly... she can just rewind time and try something else. Max doesn't have to "put up with" anything anymore

Anyways... i think we've all had friends like chloe.. people who we don't want to lose but who we can barely stand beind around after awhile... tolerable in small doses. However, if Chloe was anything like this before Max left, it's no wonder she didn't bother to try contacting her the entire time she was gone

As for why Chloe didn't try to contact Max? It's pretty obvious what kind of a manipulative personality Chloe has, and in this case, basically Max no longer had anything of USE to her (the emotional payment she receives from Max by dragging her along and guilting her into doing things she doesn't want to do)

Max was no longer in a position to provide Chloe with anything she wanted, so Chloe didn't bother to contact her either

On one hand, Chloe's character and personality makes it hard to care about what happens to her so far, considering who we, the player, are in control of. On the other hand, the fact that the writers could conjure up a character that makes me actively dislike her and want to talk about her seems to paradoxically indicate a damn good character

I had a friend like Chloe but male, he was fun, nice with his friends but at some point he became a bad guy, a real bad guy not with his friends hopefully..
Peoples like them are self destructing, you can't help, they can only drag you down.
And so i am not a big fan of Chloe.
David is the onlyone who can save Chloe, by dying because of her..

I like Chloe, maybe not all the time, but she's doing what she thinks is ok. She went through a lot.

i agree with you, she lost her father, Rachel and Max haven't contacted her for ages..
Chloe is broken-hearted, first Max, who left her for 5 years, without calling and then Rachel dissappearing, i kinda understand her. Also they have been hanging out for 2 days and i think her behaviour is pretty nice for someone who have been left for so long without receiving even a call.

Before i begin, can i just ask why people make these questions since the characters are fictional after all?
I dunno, ask the education system that wants you to look into the background of the characters in every written drama.

You may now begin.

I agree with you Drakensson. But, she act like this because she lost in one phase William, Rachel and Max. And she can not afford all this weight. If you lost all of those who you love and understud then you fall in despair. I don't think, she never change her behavior.

Exactly. Corruption is something very sad. You can't turn back. And, the result after this is death, because the victim become crazy and BANG!
I want Rachel alive. And after that they found her, she and Max give a big hug on Chloe. I want those 2 to replace the hole of Chloe with trust and love. I don't want betrayal for anyone. I don't want Chloe to die beacuse of a f@cking tornado and for a stup!d town. As antagonist, that be interesting. I agree. But I don't want bad results after that. Chloe is alone, she afraid, she is sad. She can't trust anyone 100% even Max. I think she hide something for her reasons. I want to see a clear truth and not injustice. End, look what I found:

Chloe Price = CP -> Corrupted Person = CP | What?! O_O

The problem is they are both guilty of that though. Chloe also made no effort to contact Max either.

I want to help Chloe but everytime i do i end up regretting it in some way.
The only time i went through with helping her on my file was choosing to try to shoot frank.
That hasnt come back to bite me just yet but i know it will like every other choice with her.
Chloe is a good friend thats just been absorbed by a town thats gone to ♥♥♥♥ in the years youve been away.
Right now Max still sees the town for what it was when she previously lived there.
But Chloe sees it for what its turned into over the years.

People seem to think Chloe was like this throughout their entire friendship. This is false. Chloe was a completely different person before Max left. It was after Chloe's father died did she go through this transformation. No one knows why Max never attempted to contact Chloe after she moved to Seattle. And since the subject was dropped rather quickly - I doubt we'll ever really know.

Well, its likely she is used to people abandoning her......Max leaves.......her father dies and then Rachel disappears.....i am thinking it is quite understandable for Chloe to have Abandonment issues and she is trying to sort through it in her own way, but i am thinking Max will help her through it.....i hope there is a choice to help her through it, which can cement your friendship with her or relationship...whichever one you prefer to do....if there is a choice.
