Life is Strange is a Point and click game?

I just notice some users saying that this game is a point and click and the walking dead as well, is that true? i found a lot of other internet websites saying that the walking dead is a point and click but i can walk on those games (plus there should be a new genre for this type of games because even if they are indeed tagged as point and click they are not)

This game is similar to the mechanics of the walking dead, you are able to walk around and interact with people but you make your choices through point and clicks. Watch a part 1 video of the game to get a understanding of the way the game works. Should not spoil to much.

It's basically the closest thing you can get to a point and click game, without it truly being one. I understand why everyone categorizes it as one, you go around trying to find the hidden photos and things so you're constantly hovering your mouse over everything to see if there is an action available. But, you do have the free ability to walk around on your own with WASD. True point and click games, like Deponia for example, have the mouse do all the work. I agree with you, there should be a new sub-genre or something for games like this.
