I didn't think he was either at first until someone pointed out a few things to me. I was blinded by attraction. It's a teacher thing, lol.
So...
How he only acknowledges the female students in class
The quote about capturing people in a dark corner
How he treated Kate when she came to him
The rumors about him and Rachel
Idk. There's a list.
I'm still not sure about Warren. I did like him at first. Still do.
Frank is not a photographer.
We don't know if she is dead.
The real creep, to me, is Samuel. He seems to know a lot more than he admits. Spirit animals, the photos, wow...my head is spinning.
Haven't really seen enough of him in class but he seems to mostly acknowledge Max. But then a lot of people have mentioned she has a lot of potential as a photographer I think as well as Jefferson there was the Principal saying this. Only other female he seems to react to in class is Victoria but that's because she's always speaking up in class which I think is her way of trying to impress him and despite her being obviously after him he turns her down. As for how he treated Kate I think he just didn't take her situation as seriously as he should have. As for the rumors about him and Rachel we haven't seen anything to prove this is true only one student saying she heard that it happened from someone but that could just be someone spreading rumors.
Samuel to me is odd and perhaps knows things that others don't but I don't think he's a bad person. The spirit animal thing he may have been right about all things considered.
At the end of class, he only talks to the females, reminding them to hand in their work. Or maybe all the boys handed in theirs already,IDK. We know Max didn't hand hers in.
Max doesn't seem like a very studious person to me. Her GPA is not that high. So why is Jefferson so convinced on her potential anyway? She has been there for like a month, right?
With Kate. He was kind of victim blaming. I don't remember the conversation much.
He says something along the lines of "Me thinks the lady doth protest too much."
Or implies that she is a hypocrite for preaching abstinence and then taking part in the video.
When Max talks to him outside class about Kate/Rachel. He says things like "We all miss Rachel" and "Kate was nothing like Rachel." He gets really defensive about Rachel. She was nothing like Kate. It sounds like he means Kate is the lesser in the equation.
I don't think it's saying that it does excuse that. I think by not confusing the art with the artist just means to judge the art on its own merit rather than your opinion of the artist. So while she may not like Victoria she does like Victoria's photos. Although it's interesting that Victoria mocks Max for taking selfies when it turns out that she does the same and has a few in her locker. Though Max can't really call Victoria out on being a hypocrite without confessing to going through her locker.
I don't really recall exactly whose names he says at the end of the class but I think there are more female students in his class than male.
As for Max it wasn't just Jefferson who said she had talent as a photographer. She may not be the best student but doesn't mean she isn't a good photographer.
With the Kate thing it was mean of him to do that but certainly doesn't make him creepy. He seemed to just think she had brought it on herself and several students seemed to share this opinion until after she tries to kill herself or does kill herself then suddenly they're all feeling bad about it.
As for Rachel I don't know. I haven't seen much of it get into how well they got along or anything. She did want to be a model so may have spent time around Jefferson as he is a photographer whether they had anything going hasn't been confirmed yet but either way I don't think it'd make him a killer or anything. After all Frank we know for certain had something with Rachel but not many people are pegging him for being a killer.
I don't think he is a killer, but I believe he may be a suspect of something. He has some questionable behavior. When you blame Jefferson, he lies about Max not answering her call. When he talks to Victoria after, he apparently says mean things about her - the student with so much potential. And this is after you accuse him (which I have not, I rewind)
It is odd sketchy, self-preserving behavior. I get looking out for yourself, but he was pretty bold in lying about Max in front of Max and assuming she wouldn't speak up
I was originally in love with him, until I realized this was just because I was viewing him through Max's eyes. Just like how every time you make a decision, Max's voice-over tries to sway you to make another because both can be potentially be the "bad" option. It's confusing, but her voice over's can obviously be misleading. I don't think Max knows who she shouldn't trust and who she should. Just because Max doesn't like someone, doesn't mean they are bad. It would be way too obvious and in your face.
I think Max's resemblance to Rachel. (people kept calling her that) is why Jerfferson has so much interest in her.
To be honest, I also suspect the principal to be suspect of something. He reminds me of the husband in Gothika.
OK. Since Nathan has just strong feelings for Rachel. I can assume that when someone (maybe Jefferson or his dad or the principal- or just some of them) had Rachel in the dark room, maybe Nathan was forced to be there. Forced to watch something.
Some people believe his dad may be involved which adds another creepy level. (Having to watch your dad do something horrible to a girl you liked/wanted)
He clearly knows something. His response once he thinks Maxie is Rachel in the diner - "Rachel?"- can be interpreted as shock/surprise (either because she is missing or because he knows she is dead?)
The dark room photo was on a file in the computer. Maybe someone (has to be principal or teacher) thought Nathan was going to blab so they scooped up the photo and has him on meds + being watched by dad. Or maybe he stopped taking his meds.
