My friend who was watching me play thought that was a question about max's sexuality. I thought well it might be, which locker room you choose allows you to find out about specific characters, but it turns out I was able to go into both after. Subtext or just a small irrelevant choice?

I think it's a little bit of both. Notice how many of these moments involve Chloe? I think there may be a back story as to why she left/never contacted Chloe after moving then returning home. Perhaps she herself is confused or had feelings other than friendship? She's young and that's a confusing time for everyone.

I did go the kissing her first part as well because I'm definitely getting that vibe, and the rejection from Chloe along with her deep feelings for Rachael kind of hint that there was more there. I don't think she wants her childhood friend to know her in that way, or isn't ready for it? Perhaps all her rage stems from her first love (Max) leaving her the same way that Rachael now has, along with discovery of her new, secret, boyfriend Frank?

It may all be irrelevant, but I was thinking the same.

Well, after re-watching that kissing scene, maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but in my opinion, Max is a bit too involved. She closes her eyes, wraps her arms around Chloe....everything indicates that ... well ... maybe Max indeed is falling for Chloe.

You can also get Chloe to open either locker room then rewind and open it from the other side and Chloe says something about that trick is getting old.

Well exactly. That's why I started to think the question really wasn't asking about which one you want to go in because you can go in both. We were thinking it was subtext. Like if chloe were to ask So max? You want hotdogs or tacos? Seemed like subtext. Like Max/theplayer gets that choice.

I've also noticed that Max talks about a girl being cute as well, though that might be normal girl talk. However, I feel like Max borderline bi so that the player can either have her with Chloe or Warren. Earlier in the game series, she has no interest in Warren and doesn't realize that Warren is crushing on her - one of the characters made a comment that Warren likes her, and Max was aloof to the idea. As other ppl have pointed out, she is a teenager who is growing up. I feel like a large part of the game's theme is growing up to an adult from a child.

I feel that Chloe is a obviously a lesbian or prefers women more than guys. I think Chloe is a person who is frighten of rejection or losing someone she loves. Chloe also flirted a lot with Max in the episodes prior to 3.

I picked girl's locker room because it felt more natural, Max and Chloe both being girls and all. Only later on tumblr did I read about people thinking it had something to do with sexuality. I think people read to much into it, like if you want subtext to be there, you can read it in almost everything.

If you choose girl you get "Ooh la-la", if you choose boy you get "Perv". I don't see subtext here, it's quite clear text.
Mind you, it's not Max saying she's into girls/boys, but Chloe interpreting it that way, because she's like that.

I don't think the locker room choice matters too much, but the choice to kiss / not kiss Chloe is obviously a choice between her and Warren, Chloe effectively says that afterwards.

Also, Max says something like "I won't make it too easy" when you refuse to kiss CHloe, so yeah, I think she is somehow interested in Chloe.

When you are in the RV she also mentions the kiss again, so it's obviously on her mind and in the same scene Chloe wants to steal the RV and drive away with Max.
