Am I The Only One. . ? *SPOILERS*

I keep seeing all the threads about the ending with the "new" timeline and all with William being alive and Chloe being disabled and stuff and people very upset with Dotnod on how we're in this new timeline and it makes everything from the previous episodes go to waste and stuff. Also people are upset that you are forced to save William from the accident.

Am I the only who thinks that we will NOT be stuck in this new world, timeline whatever you want to call it, I know this is temporarily and I just believe it is part of the story that we have to play through. I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't see why everyone is upset with this forced action. I think it will actually be interesting to see Chloe's life with William being alive and all. I actually don't think will be in this alternate timeline that long either. I think it will go something like this in episode 4, We talk with Chloe and asked her what happened (probably car accident) I'm sure Max will feel horrible about this (Joyce could have been involved in the accident and possibly died since we didn't see her at the end, unless she's just at the diner) not to mention there were dead whales which seems to be a big issue. I think we will get to use Max's new power I few more times as she will probably find a picture before Chloe's accident and go back and try to stop that but that makes things worse or no better. Max will then have to go back to that picture right before William died then back to the original timeline. Anyways overall I'm sure Max will realize going back that far and making a huge change in the past was a terrible mistake and that she will go back to her normal timeline (I think it will be with that picture her and Chloe took after they woke up maybe)

Anyways I highly doubt Max will be stuck there and eventually things will go back to they way they were with finding out what happened to Rachel Amber and stopping the tornado. We wouldn't have done all that stuff all 3 episodes for it to be thrown away like that that would be stupid. I'm sure this new timeline will just be an amazing part of the story. I'm excited to play through it.

I'm not upset with or disappointed with the ending (disappointed that we were forced to save William) like a lot of people seem to be. Of course I am shocked and upset with seeing Chloe's condition (still not over it) but this make me excited and anxious for the next episode.

The only thing I'm upset about is waiting possibly 6-8 weeks for episode 4? Maybe even longer because after finishing 3 I didn't see a memo on when ep 4 was to be released.

What are your thoughts?

I started thinking myself and questioning whether tomorrow I should go back and try to not save her father and hope the timeline doesn't change, but by the threads here it seems that resistance is futile.

The more I thought about it I think we'll have to do that horrible photo time travel mechanic again to return back to the previous timeline, possibly Episode 5? I think Episode 4 will be about exploring some of the mysterious side of things (Vortex Club) as well as seeing the consequences of Max going too far with her powers making future choices even more critical.

I'm thinking it'll be something along those lines where the future will be so radically different she'll be forced to undo everything, but now with new knowledge gained. Remember she does still retain all her memories so she's still her old self and doesn't belong in this new timeline.

I was a little disappointed at first, but it got me thinking about the possibilities. Bring on Episode 4/5, Season 2, whatever. My body is ready.

considering this is a game,we definitely wont be stuck in this timeline.I think most people are just expressing their sadness or shock or something,not they really think the game will go by this line to the end.Because it is sad,maybe for us,for max it's just an AU,but for chloe of this universe,it's real,she did suffer(like leliana of dai said in mage route).So although I know this may not last long,but everytime I see chloe on that wheelchair,it still breaks me

Nope you're not. Though I can't be certain until we play the next episode I'm guessing somehow things will change back to how they were.

It would be stupid, and I wouldn't be worried if it hadn't happened before. (ME3's original ending, many TT games from what people say). As such, I am rather worried T_T

Really hoping the developers pull through on it!

Oh yes this will definitely be a good time to explore the vortex club and maybe witness Nathan drugging someone and such! Oooh then Max can take pictures or something and have proof! Omg! what if we attend the party where Kate got drugged! then we can for sure get evidence on that! That would be amazing! Yes I like this idea. I actually forgot about how we can get in on The Vortex Club's secrets until you mention it because I'm so stuck on Chloe and the whales. Good Theory!

It depends really, the developers could make it so that we are stuck in this new timeline, which they can do if they want to be lazy and write their own choices in for the last 2 episodes for the ease of it instead of 5 episodes of so many different choices, which will render our choices useless, but if we find a way back, then it would be useful still.

The ending was a lot I still haven't gone back and replayed ep 4 because the ending got me so much the first time.

I have taken the stance of not being mad with any storyteller's decisions on endings or cliff hangers. We are experiencing their story, however they want to tell it. They have a vision for the story as a whole. We can be sad or scared or happy.

For this particular ending, my thoughts go straight to wondering what the two different Chloes would think. Now, we know nothing about alternate Chloe outside of the fact that she has a living dad, is in a wheelchair, and smiled upon seeing Max. Now regular Chloe is an interesting one to think about. On one hand, she deeply wants her dad to have come home and is impulsive. On the other, she is impressively selfish. Everything is about what is being done to her and no-one else could possibly ever understand. Like how she blames Max for leaving. What kid has a choice in relocation? Mom and Dad are moving to Seattle, but Max, you can stay here. Extremely volatile and quick to anger. It is what makes me hate her a little. However, I do think she would consider it the right thing to do. So, given the choice, I think Chloe would rather be extraordinarily crippled than have her dad die.

But then, that isn't the opinion that matters. What matters is what her dad would want. I would guess that Max is going to end up talking to Chloe's dad about this. And, as any worthwhile father would, (and we can surely say he is) he will tell Max to let him die. But then there is the whole explaining of it to Chloe. But that is where a letter from dad would be handy.

That's my 2 cents.

That "Max is part of the Vortex Club, so now she can get evidence about Nathan" is gonna get strange if it turns out that in this timeline Max is the "bad guy" who's drugging people. x D

It did say 'Alternate Main Campus' in the save file at the end. I hope this means you can go back/redo some things and make it to 'Main Campus' again. If Max gets stuck in this new timeline, all our decisions made through 2.5 episodes would have zero impact and that would totally kill the fun for me.

I really like this theory, but if Max was to jump between timelines again, would she be able to keep a letter from William? When she ended up in this new timeline her clothes were different, for instance. But obviously we can't know if she kept any of the stuff she had in her bag or anything.

On another note... One of the preview pictures for ep5 is Max's original Everyday Heroes Contest entry photo. Maybe she'll use that to return to... whatever timeline we started the game in. There's that theory that the one we originally started playing in is one that Rachel Amber created. I haven't settled for any theory yet, though.

Max seems horrified when Chloe rolls up with a permanent trach. I think this part of the story is meant to show that even if you have good intentions, you shouldn't mess with time too much, or you'll really screw things up. It's to teach Max a lesson, and I think she'll have to rewind the rewind (as I'm sure you've all done plenty of times in the game).

i think we will stay for a few time in this new timeline ,investigation would be useless , nathan and victoria seems different persons now ,even max is not the same (yeah, she's the same only cause came back from the "past" ,but it's clear from her clothes and new friends that 5 years or her life were completely different from the previous one ) ,only thing i can say is : i want episode 4 NOW !! :)
