Is this game suitable for kids?

my little niece(6 yrs) love to watch me play games.

I'm planning to buy this game so we can have a play through together, is this game too adult themed to be seein by a child of this age? Provided she does not even understand the concept of drugs etc and can be fooled easily into the meaning of such things.

@Raptor, she is an adorable fighty girl, kind that I play some mature games with(far cry, ac etc), but thankfully we do not speak English as first language, so I hope she does not pick them up haha

This game has language, drug use, guns, discussions of abortion, discussions of death, and sexual references.
I would say this game is not for a six year old. The rating recommends for people sixteen years old and older to play. My recommendation for this game would be ten years old or older.

Hmmm...

I took the last resort of watching a let's play momentarily... I'm beginning to have my doubts unfortunately, I was excited and looking for a kind of cinematic, teenage game but looks like I'll have to pass...

Wait a few episodes, or play it for yourself first, it's too early to tell if it gets really 16+

The list that RYMC3 gave is about right. There is no violence in the game to speak of. But the topics for dsicussion range from teeanage pregnancy, to guns in schoool to overbearring (to the point of almost being abusive) father figures.

There are also numerous references to sex and one of the main characters uses drugs. Finally the language is quite strong, there is quit a bit of cussing going on.

16+ is the recommended age, depending on how mature the child is I might go as low as 10...at the most.

Certainly not suitable for a 6 year old.

I'd imagine the 6 year old would think that Chloe was smoking a cigarette instead of weed. A 6 year old doesn't know what weed is. I don't think the 6 year old would understand enough to be too damaged from it aside from the swearing. Though that means, I don't think this would appeal to a 6 year old at all. They won't get most of it without you explaining, and it'll probably be a lot of explaining that you don't want to do.

@OTIS, thanks for your clear explanation, i'm not worried about spoilers, this exactly the type of thing that they must write on a footprint or further explained by ESRB rating.


@WillieRobs, you know what your talking about, yes i'm not bothered about the smoking(lots of people smoke), but in order for the game to be enjoyable for the girl, i'd have to do lots of explaining, since lots of these new themes isn't self explanatory and are new concepts for childeren, it would niether be a good experiance for me nor for her.

i think a 6 yr old does not even know what weed is, and will mistake cocaine for a bag of sugar, though we are beating a dead horse at this point.
