If you ask me, LiS 1 is currently the only great game in the franchise. It has its problems, sure - but it became a sleeper hit back in 2015 for a reason.

All the succeeding entries in the series couldn't reach the heights the first game managed to achieve.

Can't say I agree to be honest with the exception of Before the Storm each of the subsequent games have improved upon the original's formula. As good as it was the first has been placed on a pedestal simply due to being the first entry.
