I think people are reading too much into these effects as I think it's just anothre interesting part of the game, and a way for DONTNOD to possibly choose what the next effects will be? Like if you save the birds, then the birds in the garage will survive? Or if you write on the RV Frank will mention something later on??
The Alyssa ones complex me the most, but I think it'll just be that we gain her trust if ep 5 has some sort of "against Max" thing going on.
Not stopping the train the right way just changes the dialogue a little (splinters in Chloe's leg)
Watering your plant twice/not watering at all kills it in Ep 3
Signing the petition changes a bit of dialogue in Ep 2, 3 and 4 with Ms Grant. The letter in the Principal's Office changes (successful/failed petition). I think the letter in David's garage in Ep 4 changes too but I can't confirm.
Writing on the RV makes Max comment about it in Ep 2 (It gets covered by another layer of dust and Max says "I guess nobody took my advice")
The last two is from Ep 4 so we have to see what it'll do.
