When I was in that part, my first thought was "just ♥♥♥♥ pin code, lock phone and then enter puk code from sim which many people forget to change." It was really good move from devs that even this strategy worked

Or you can simply just enter three wrong codes, lock the phone and then use the PUC code that is on the card you have for that phone.
