[Episode 3] Alternate Max and alternate timeline in general

I was just wondering... How in the world does Max end up in the Vortex Cub just because William stays alive? I mean she does leave Arcadia Bay and also neglects contacting Chloe, so that can't have an effect on her.
I mean just imagine what our beloved Max did to end up in the Vortex club. Maybe it has something to do with Chloe not needing a friend like Rachel and that mixing up all kind of things.
And Rachel is really fishy. Maybe she is also Max or something... Okay that's just one of my shower thoughts. But everybody knows her, almost everybody likes her. Everybody talks about her so fondly, like a goddess... and remembers her so clearly after months /Nathan, Frank and Joyce mistaking Max for her so easily/ I mean just how much time did she spend with everybody?
And I wonder what's up with Alternate Kate.

I really hope it's just a vision, because I can't bear the thought of there actually being an option for William to stay alive, but Max choosing otherwise. I mean despite Chloe's injury she is way happier.

that's my two cents :
when william died max leaved arcadia bay in a sad and also guilty mood (chloe was sad and really needed her ,but she was forced to leave ) and lived in seattle as an introvert girl
with william alive she leaved in a totally different mood , chloe didn't need her anymore cause had her had ,so her life in seattle was very different and when coming back to arcadia bay made different friends

You make what seemingly is a small change, but that small change will have a rippling effect and the consequences in the future are very hard or impossible to predict.
It's the "butterfly effect", the butterflies in the game are a reference to that.

Man i just finished that game about 10 minutes ago. I think Max went into Vortex Club becouse she didint met Chloe. There wasn't any accident with Natan... im completely shocked right now, where is the part 4? xD

I know small changes can impact the future big time, I'm just curious what you think abut how it happened.
I personally don't think we'll find out much about this alternate timeline. We have to get back to the story, our choices. I'm dying to know about Alyssa and the Frank tbh.
Maybe it's a vision. Well I hope, because as I mentioned earlier I wouldn't bear Max consciously not saving William, to get a healthy Chloe. I mean she is still happier this way.

Soon, it was scheduled for early July I think, they are late, but this week probably.

Max says that she loved William as if he was part of her own family. So his death of course changed Chloe a lot more, but it might have also changed Max a bit and she carried the experience of learning about loss with her when she moved to Seattle, which apparently happened shortly after.
We also don't know about the relationship between their parents. Maybe William was also a close friend of Max's parents.

Besides, even for Max in the original time line, joining the Vortex Club wasn't as big of a leap as you seem to believe it would be. Depending on the player's choices, Max was actually close to it, she kinda bonded with Taylor, she could avoid making matters worse with Victoria, opening the possibility of them becoming friends and she could have placed her name on the "End of the world" party list, with some help from the time rewinding power.

I'm curious about how Kate is doing in the new present as well. I would bet Rachel has disappeared too, that this hasn't changed and since Max joined Blackwell after her dissapearence, they would still not have met each other.

I see what you mean, but if Max was less of a sad teenager, the fact that she is rather an introvert doesn't change... So I thought maybe she would hang out and be more friendly with Alyssa. Well maybe she is everybody's friend and was just hanging out with the Vortex club for that day. It really is interesting. I really hope it's not one of those "Actually everything is worse" alternate timelines like in cartoons.

Hope she and Max are still getting along too.

If she didn't in this timeline that'd give us a clue what triggers it.
Though my personal belief currently is that Rachel possesses/possessed the same power Max does. And that is somehow the reason for her disappearance. Maybe she used it incorrectly, or too much.
