LMAO I'm dying xDD
* Drive-in movie theaters are rarer than they used to be. They mostly exist to appeal to retro geeks EXACTLY like Warren and Max, and it makes perfect sense that he'd know where one is, and want to take his geek crush there. She'd likely never have thought of going to one, if she ever even thought of one at all, and surprising her with such a cool thing she'd never have done otherwise was incredibly thoughtful. Also keep in mind that Arcadia Bay is a bit of a nowhere town - see the lack of ANY first responders near the diner area during the storm, let alone disaster professionals from a bigger city - and it's always gonna be a long drive to any sort of niche interest.
* To address his nebulous relationships with Brooke and Alyssa; there are a few things to cover.
(a) He's young and inexperienced.
(b) He's a young inexperienced *man*.
(c) He's a young inexperienced man with mostly female, older friends.
(d) He's a young inexperienced man with mostly female, older friends to whom he's shy about being forthright.
These four things are a perfect storm for producing a confused mess of feelings toward his female friends. It's understandable, predictable even, that a person experiencing those four conditions would have had uncertain feelings of affection for the young women in his life before Max stumbled on to the scene.
That some of those loose ends weren't tied up when Max did arrive and his affections for her did seem, to him, to supersede his previous ones may be an argument that whatever he feels or thinks he feels for Max will not last long, but I do not believe it is an argument that his admittedly less than perfect handling of the situation should condemn him.
How would you handle his situation, and are you biased because of your greater age and experience? Can he be condemned for not coming up with the optimal solution while living in the moment? Likewise, being outside Max's window would be an easily understandable impulse for a young, inexperienced man dealing with a confused mess of feelings for several friends. Being outside Max's dorm might well help him think about what - who - he wants more from. Or, perhaps he was white knighting again, guarding the dorm from Nathan. I think either are possible.
* Regarding the book and his perceived similarity in looks to Nathan, I think the cigars are just cigars. Kate *was* doing a report on that book, and might have wanted it back sooner than she had originally projected so she could bury herself in her work due to her own troubles at that time. His looks, I think, are just coincidence. I wonder if the developers themselves even noticed before a fan suggested a similarity.
* Finally, who *wouldn't* watch Kate's video? Who wouldn't watch *any* such video, let alone one involving a known prude apparently letting her hair down? Almost nobody didn't look up photos of at least one celebrity when 'the fappening' happened, if only to check that they were real leaks.
