This choice has consequences....
I just started this game and it's interesting so far, but every time I make a choice and see the little message about consequences I get so paranoid and rewind until I'm sure of my choice.

Yep. My advice would be to not stress out about it too much and enjoy the game. Its quite cool though that you have the option of immediately seeing what the other choice looks like.

To be honest, there will be consequences either way. It's good that you are using the games main mechanic to try out different options before commiting though as that's pretty much the point of being able to do that. It'll also sometimes give you gain new options using the information Max has learned. Just remember that the consequences wont always be immediate, obvious or bad.

Months before when I first played the first episode, I thought that the word "consequences" was a bad thing as it would mean something negative. I too was paranoid just like you. However, I eventually took it as "your decision will impact the story" much like how in the TT games your choices will prompt a "He/she will remember that." Don't let the word "consequences" fool you. It just means that the choices made during this event will have an effect on the storyline

Alot of people make the mistake of taking "consequences" as something negative. You usually don't see it outside of negative statements after all.
Just relax and take that "warning" as a sign that what you did could change something, either for better or worst, and if you feel your action would make it worse, feel free to rewind, that's what it's for ^^

In life, every choice you make has a consequence. Do I go upstairs or stay downstairs? The consequence may be nothing more than where you end up, but that's still a consequence of your actions.

This game will make you paranoid though, as you try and work out which consequences are big and which are inconsequential. That's life, though.

Life is nothing but a series of choices.

That is one of the amazing things about this game, you can change your mind. This makes you get more emotionally involved with the characters and by the end if something sad happens you will FEEL it just as if you really are Max Caulfield...welcome to Life is Strange! :D

Water a plant: This action will have consequences!

Take a breath of fresh air: This action will have consequences!

Stand still for 20 seconds: This action will have consequences!

On episode two and loving the game. Life certainly is strange.

I'm having this issue too, and it's somewhat hampering my enjoyment of the game. Do your choices in an episode affect the story in later episodes?

Consequences could be good or bad. It's up to you to decide. For guidance, read Candide.

Yes. :)

Yes they do. I was on Episode 4 and believe me, some nerve-wracking stuff has happened. I started over because I was too emotionally shaken. Which might defeat the point of playing a game, but that's what I did. I'm still hesitant to pick up where I left off.

It's actually quite amusing. Most games don't affect me this much.

YES

To ensure that I enjoyed the game I stuck with my decision as I chose them because that's how I would respond if I were asked that question and couldn't rewind

Actually

In one ending nothing you did made a blind bit of difference, Sacrificing Chloe leads to nathan getting busted and confessing everything and dropping jefferson right in, And Kate doesnt end up suicidal, (Appart from Max and Chloe this is the happy ending for EVERYONE, Sacrificing the Bay however, again its not clear who dies, we know Nathan gets killed by Jefferson, If you saved Kate from jumping then she is alive in the hospital or at home, Jefferson is caught, but past that nothing really matters, Letting ya plant die...big whoop, Alysa gets bullied, who cares (As long as ya save her ass the last time,)

Point is ONLY sacrificing Arcadia Bay makes your choices matter, In fact I think that is actaully the default ending or else nothing matters at all, And sacrificing Chloe would just leave Max a traumertised emotional wreak for the rest of her life with no one to talk to about the events of that week...pretty depressing if you ask me
