*SPOILER* How to warn David?

Hi! I've a simple and quick question.
I'm stuck in the dark room, after Jefferson have destroyed my diary (btw it's pretty sad when you open it and page 1/1 is all burned :( ), David is going into the dark room and Jefferson grabs the tripod.
Now, if a warn David too fast Jefferson beats me, if I do it too late David shoots but Jefferson beats him. When am I suppose to warn David?

You have to ask Jefferson for water as a last request, then push the cart with your foot when David is about to come around the corner in order to distract Jefferson for a split-second. No need to yell.

select warn (at the right time), then when David is in the room look slightly to your left and use the cable option to trip jefferson over. it took me FOREVER to time it properly but you will get there :)

Or... ask him for one last photo, get the achievement and then tell David to hit Jefferson with the camera that he leaves on that side of the room after taking the photo.

Then when he Jefferson tries to go for the gun, pull the cable to the left of you to ensure David isn't shot.

The key to not giving David a scar is to NOT warn him! Just pull the trolley as soon as it becomes an option. Most walkthroughs are giving confusing instructions, but i found this video that explains it!
