[Spoiler] Need help in Episode 5

When the fire closes to the 2 Whales diner i cant interact with the sand to put it out. Do i need somithing before i can don this? The only thing which is interactable in this area is the door.

No, you should be able to just use the sand. Maybe make sure you've rewound enough so the fire is far enough away?

I rewinded until i coulndt rewind any further. I just cant interact with the sand.

That's strange, must be a bug? Hopefully reloading a save will work it out.

Reloading the checkpoint didnt work, but restarting the whole chapter fixed it

I'm having the same problem. The sand is simply not interactable, no matter where, or when, you stand in the level. Reloading from the last checkpoint does not change this. I'm going to try restrarting the chapter, but not tonight. It took me hours to get this far :(

doesn't it need to explode the diner first?

Doesn't matter whether you've seen the diner explode or not. If you have this bug, the sand will remain non-interactable.

I had this issue initially but eventually it worked after a few minutes of just fiddling. It's probably a bug, but something eventually triggers it being interactable. Sucks you already restarted the chapter though.

I haven't restarted yet. What did you do? What triggered it? Any hints you can recall would be most welcome!

Are you rewinding too soon, maybe? I knew I had to let the diner blow up before I could interact with the sand, but I kept rewinding before the scene went grey and Max yell's "no!". I did this several times before I realized I had to wait for that.

This didn't seem to be a problem in my first playthrough, so I don't know what's going on.

I mean that's the best I can say. I ran around the entire place, stood in the flames for a few seconds, let it blow up over and over. Eventually I just found that the pile of sand I was walking over from the beginning was suddenly clickable. Sorry I can't offer much more than that. :/

Thanks! That helped! I had to let the screen go completely gray and wait a second till Max shouted "No!" before rewinding made the sand clickable. Very tricky, since you can actually see the explosion and the red x of the timed puzzle way beforehand, which makes it easy to rewind constantly and avoid going all the way to the end of the explosion and triggering the sand.

Yes, it's very deceptive! The scene takes longer to "end" than expected. I wasn't sure I was right about that, so I'm glad it worked for you and got you past that part.

I just had this problem, you need to let the diner explode and wait for the game to go grey (telling you to rewind) then you can interact with it. Hope this helps.

Where is the pile of sand you're supposed to interact with? I am so lost...
