Who has the best youtube playthrough?
So I asked this on another site and got some neat suggestions, so I'd like to ask you guys: whose playthrough of the game do you believe is the best?

I've watched a number of them, so here are my thoughts on them. Feel free to skip this part as it's long.

1. jacksepticeye
Pros: Surprisingly, despite being a loudmouth and a bit obnoxious for some, he was a great player. He was fairly calm and took the game very seriously, getting very invested into the story and garnering some nice, genuine reactions.

Cons: Not the most thorough player. He misses quite a lot of the minor decisions.

2. KatiePlaysStuff
Pros: Very smart. She reads people very well and figured out the villains and good guys early on. She takes the decisions seriously and is probably the most thorough player so far. She knows how to rewind to extend conversations and she examines practically everything. She saw the Episode 4 ending coming.

Cons: Tends not to show previews of the next episode. She also doesn't go over her statistics at the end, if you care about that.

3. TheSw1tcher
Pros: The chemistry of this duo was great. They're probably the funniest of the ones I've seen due to their jokes and banter among themselves.

Cons: They talk to themselves too much and don't pay as much attention as they could have. Sometimes they are slow to figure things out as well, but this could be a pro if you're entertained by that.

4. YogscastKim
Pros: Thorough and smart. She explores quite a lot and has really quality commentary. She relates to Max very well and is very interested in the story. Her investment with Kate is very sweet and she empathizes with characters.

Cons: Tries to avoid music whenever possible, and given how prominent the music is in this game, it's sometimes jarring.

5. Caiyth
Pros: Reads characters well and is thorough. She genuinely cares about everyone and is quite intelligent and observant.

Cons: It's been a while so I don't remember anything standout. I suppose she was slow to catch onto some things, but they're very minor.

6. Cryaotic
Pros: Calm, cool, and collected. He stays quiet during scenes and is very invested in the story. He has genuine reactions which you can hear since he doesn't have a facecam. He is also quite funny sometimes.

Cons: Rushed the hell out of Episode 1. He gets better, but I wouldn't call him thorough.

7. GamingAwesome
Pros: One of the funnier ones. He is observant and makes his decisions with a lot of thought put into them.

Cons: Never reads text messages. Not super thorough, and he's still not finished yet (I think he'll stream the rest in the future though).

I'd reccommend Ray Narvaez jr. aka Br0wnman (twitch) aka B1gnBr0wN (youtube). Former Rooster Teeth employee and Achievement hunter

Gronkh of course. (relaxed, slow (sometiems too slow) and enjoys everything what the Game gives and talks just as much as it is right. Presents such Games like this very well. In short no hyperactive cry baby like so many famous other youtubers. Cons: German only.)

Best of course is still playing the Game by yourself whenever possible. So you can play the way you like it as fast or slow and as intense or not as you like it best.

DashieGames. He's very sensitive and really gets into the atmosphere. He shows a very loving side during the Kate scene
Gronkh, angelarts and Cry

I've watched a few of these and I like the Geek Remix one the best. But there's some you mentioned that I haven't watched, so thanks, I'll check them out!

I've watched iHasCupquake. Her reactions and comments are endearing, but she's not a particularly thorough or observant player. Episode 4 and she still doesn't seem to know that the ellipsis symbol means you can rewind conversations for more information; she hears the tonal cue and assumes she has made a choice that causes consequences. She also rarely reads anything optional material (never once does she read the diary) and, despite once stumbling onto the "read" button, hasn't figured out that you can use it to read things with crabbed handwriting.

EDITED TO ADD: Despite the above, I really love Cupquake's enthusiasm and personality! She's a blast to watch. The nitpicks I listed sound overly negative, but I really did enjoy watching. Give her LP a try and see for yourself.

Pause tho. :P

I watched quite a number of people's playthroughs.

EricVanWilderman - He is the one that got me into Life is Strange. Episodes are on one video each. He uploaded Episode 1 in mid-May and I was bored at the time so I watched it and immediately loved the game. His reactions are really good and his commentary is funny. A smart guy, really. He pays attention to details and stuff.

DashieGames-AH! SH*T-AH! - Currently my favorite YouTuber. Cuts each episode in two parts. A LOT of bad words and swearing but that don't get to me. It makes it even funnier, actually. Though he cuts scenes out, doesn't pay much attention to the details and his commentary are kinda weird, (Every time a person says a line he'll be like "oh." Rinse and repeat but the "oh" may be higher/lower in pitch or may be held longer/shorter.) I still love his playthroughs because its really interesting to hear what he has to say.

Jacksepticeye - The YouTuber I respect the most. Episodes uploaded are on one whole video. A great mix of humor and serious-ness. He takes the game quite serious and it's interesting to see what his reactions are.

PewDiePie - Kinda meh to me. He cuts episodes in half then directs viewers to go to his website to watch the remaining part, which I hate. (This is different from recording part by part)

GoldGloveTV - Immature, makes sex jokes all the time but really funny. He films episodes in one whole long stretch (hours-long) because he films it on stream. I got spoiled for Episode 4 by myself for him because just as I'm about to play Episode 4, he was live-streaming at the same time. Him being drunk makes the commentary even funnier and better.

Cryaotic - Pretty serious, with a little bit of humor. Uploaded in parts. It's alright to me, no complaints, just a little plain and quite quiet.

I've been watching other LPs and I've discovered that I really don't like it when content is cut -- even if it's just going from Point A to Point B. The disconnect is jarring and takes me out of the moment.

Jesse Cox has a great playthrough (with Dodger). He reads characters very well and he does not miss anything.

One of the best Let's Play of LiS that I watched was done by a British Girl, her Youtube name is Birdyboots and she really does deserve some sort or Youtube award for her emotional content that is certain :)

Just wanna say thank you for this thread and all the comments! Seems the near future is safe now :-)

Tried ihascupquake, and yes, she is cute. But she is impatient and not really into it, reads almost nothing, misses quite a few things, cuts Max's talking/thinking and gets sometimes so distracted, that she is surprised/interrupted by the upcoming decision and has not really an idea of what is going on. I had to stop after the junkyard.

Edit: Since it wasn't mentioned yet, I liked this LP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MocdrmgO4H4&list=PL5P5eGJK4qOeLz2aW5UgizWd-WdXV-QB9.
And so far, Geek Remix is my favorite.

Well, that one was hella great! Reminded me so much of my first playthrouugh :steamhappy:

I was wondering again how brave those people are, showing their emotions, their naked self, to the public. It's even hard for me to show them to my closest people. So adorable.

Those with no commentary.
The best is Emma Blackery, aka BirdyBoots easily. I loved her playthrough ^_^. She does funny commentary and shows the best emotions, not faking it. Check out the music she makes, it's great too <3.

One other favorite of mine is Katya Szewczuk, aka Miscat Squad, who is starting Ep5 soon.
