Did you go for all optional photos on first play through?

One of the first things I noticed in the game was the black and white sketch photos in the journal. When I got the first optional photo (etching in desk) I realized what I needed to look for to get the photos.

I'm not an achievement junky but I'm just so detail oriented in games that I spend a lot of time walking around making sure I miss nothing.

Am I doing it right? I understand you can get optional photos them rewind the decision and still have the photo. Can't recall if I did that or not, but it's hard not to look to see what the next one is. Guess I'll do this for every episode.

My point in making this thread is I almost feel like it's cheating knowing what to look for... Should I play 2-5 oblivious of the optional photos? Maybe it'll make it more surprising, but like I said I am detail oriented and don't just go straight for the current objective. So I might find most of them anyway..

I'm not an achievement junkie either, but I think it's starting to slightly grow inside me. I tried to take all photos on first time checking the journal most of the time, when I play slowly enjoying. Some I happened to find by surprise. I still missed maybe 5-6 of them xD. And if you miss them, can try get them after finishing the story or with a completely new playthrough.

I didn't always rewind on 1st save.

I didn't really look for them the first play through, but I did take them if I stumbled on them. I did look for them on the second play through because that's when I noticed all the optional photos give you a hint as to what they are as they appear in sequence.

I got all of them on my first playthrough.

Using the journal is ok, it's there to help you. Plus it doesn't show you exactly what to look for, just a hint.

I got some in S1 by accident, then tried later. Got quite a lot, even all 10 in Ep. 2, but not all.

I just took those I came across with but I didn't search to take all of them.
On my second try, I wanted to but it ended up like the first one.
Now I'm waiting to get the limited edition to make a third try. I might took all of them this time.

Also if you play the game again does it show your new choices against the worlds or are your first choices cemented in the stats?

Good question actually. I know that your own choices change if you use the same save slot, or stay the same if you use another one. But whether it updates online, and what happens if you use different saves (does it count you multiple times? Only the first one?) is unclear.

I was too distracted with the story and some pics were kind of hard to find

Never bothered in episode 5 cause it sucked so much, but the rest Igot them all..

I got most of them on the first (and only playthrough) but not because I tried. I explored everything thoroughly and just happened to get most of them. The few I did miss, I went back on the collectors mode after each episode just to get them.

I'm curious about the choices thing, too.

So I've been playing the rest of the game not using the journal for the photos. I found 7/10 in Ep. 2 and so far have found 3/10 in Ep. 3 (I missed #1 and #2, but found 3, 4 and 5 - that is where I've taken a break for now).
