Seems really slow, does this game pick up?
So i'm 1 and a half hours in the first episode and so far it is terribly boring and very slow. You can't speed up dialogues and they talk so slow. I find it so slow that 1 hour feels like 3 hours.

I also played 2 hours of Tales from the borderlands last night and there was not a single dull moment in comparison to this game. Time flew by like nothing.

Is the entire series this slow or do things get more interesting?

Episode 2 picks up near the ending.

It grows as a snowball down a hill as far as I know as episodes go by. If you have the cash, TOTALLY go for it, you won't regret it.

The whole episode 1 is more like tutorial and to meet and know main characters and game setting and to start the story, but it gets far better in epsode 2. Episode 3 is pushing story even more forward, ep4 is I think best from the game and ep5 is emotional insanity ( lot of people hated it, but it isn´t so bad)

If you feel bored and wanna skip dialogues, this game is not for you.
It's not a game with a lot of action. It mostly about story and characters. You need to talk to people, interact with all the stuff you see...

I enjoy that, I loved A Wolf Among Us by TT, which some would call "slow," but it was interesting at least. I love interaction games like the Persona series "highschool/relationship sim" part of its gameplay. But, this first episode of Life is Strange feels like a real borefest, no offence, but I usually never find games boring.

I think this game may not be for me though, that's what i'm trying to figure out before I buy the entire season.

Finish the first episode at least. But if you still don't like the game then, don't buy the rest.

+1

But make sure to take your time and explore the environment in episode 2. Not gonna spoiler anything, just belive me (or don't, I don't really care).

This game obviously isn't for everyone, but it does kinda have a slow start. In my opinion things start heating up around episode 2 and things go full on interesting at episode 3.

Think of it like curling up on the couch and reading your favorite novel, LiS is more about the story and not about the action. There is no action in LiS except in a few instances when Max has to do something in a certain time frame though usually if she can't complete it on time she can rewind time and have another go at it.

The first chapter is an introduction to the characters and necesary for the rest of the story to make sense. The ending to the first episode is still very touching and that is where this story really shines. The player becomes emotionally involved with the two main characters, the protagonist Max Caulfield and her BFF Chloe Price and if something happens to them you will feel it like it was happening to you if you let yourself get into the story.

I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did, for me Life is Strange is the best story of any game I have ever played and I have been a gamer since the early 1990's so yeah I have played a TON of games.

i'll take your word. i'm a huge gamer as well, i love rpgs and jrpgs and most games, except sports i hate sports games, but i rarely get bored of games because i find more to them, have a great imagination, and find the quality within them but my first experience with this game is the worst i've ever had next to alan wake.

i'm sure its mostly because everything is so slow, the movement is so slow, people talk really slow. like even if i were just watching scenes and deciding what to say i'd find it more enjoyable.

Just like reading a good book though usually you don't get into the story until after the first few chapters are read. However if you were to skip those chapters and go straight to the good parts, the good parts would not be as good as they would be if you had slogged through the introduction.

A perfect example is J R R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. The first few chapters are borring and hard to read, however later on you are extremely glad you did read them because you are now more emotionally attached to the characters in the storyline.

At first I thought it was slow and not worth my money but like everyone else said epiosde 2 is where it gets really good and its now one of my favorite games so weather or not you buy the game its your choice.

Make your mind up this is a great game, otherwise you'll be around like "what the hell is this crap" in the beggining and therefore barely enjoy the subsequent episodes. Making your mind up beforehand helps TONS enjoying something, I tell you, big difference.

this game has moments when you just have to go through dialogues, each episode is half action where you play and a half of story. If you read their dialogues for the first time that's okay, from ep 3 action gets interesting by its ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up way but if you have to rewind a conversation like more than 2 times even if you can skip it gets insane. If I were you I'd give it up if you dont like games without pure action
