(Spoilers) What do you think Chloe & Max are up too?

This is just for fun and obviously this is for those of us who chose to save Chloe at the end. What do you think Max and Chloe are doing or up too since they left Arcadia Bay?

Every since I finished the game the other day I can't stop thinking about what the two of them are up too. The developers did such an amazing job of making you feel connected and bonded with Max & Chloe and since there isn't any DLC the save Chloe ending is really opened ended and left up to your imagination...

And in my mind I would like to think that the storm never killed anyone, but just left the town badly destroyed. When Max & Chloe are leaving town this is AFTER they checked on Chloe's mom, Kate, Warren, etc.

In my mind I like to think that Chloe and Max just needed a break to get away from everything that happened. So right now after they left they headed to Seattle to stay with Max's parents and also allowing Chloe to have a fresh start and for her and Max to make up for all the time they were apart...

Max did say that Chloe also wanted to visit Seattle when she was younger. After spending a few years in Seattle and building up some cash are probabrly going to Los Angeles since this will help Max with her profession and allows Chloe to finally get where her and Rachel were always going.

My Chloe and Max friendship never goes beyond being amazing friends who love each other and have an amazing bond and remain together...

What do you think their up too? :-)

Yeah, going to Max's parents is what I thought as well. Then they could find some place to live together. Max should also keep going with her photographer career. And Chloe just have to find a job. We never knew what she'd like to do in her life tho. What kind of job.

Well the part that bugged me about them leaving is how Dontnod showed them leaving without even checking to see if anyone survived at the Diner. I mean Max would know that Warren, Joyce, Frank, and Officer Berry had a really good chance of being in the diner. Yet Dontnod shows them basically just ignoring that and leaving town, a town they both grew up in and would care deeply about the fates of those people.

There was one guy right after the final episode dropped that wrote some fanfiction about what happened to Max and Chloe after the fact and it was really good until it got to the point where it started to get into a semi X-rated lesbian love affair. Now I know that might happen but it was totally not necesary for that story to go that explicit. I wish I still had a link to it because it was quite good up until that point.

I found the link to that story, it is very long and it is actually pretty good. Like I said towards the end of chapter 2 it gets a bit X-rated, which is not really something I enjoy reading, and I have not read chapter 3 yet.

I like whatifthecomic.tumblr.com and am curious where the team behind it are now taking the story.

I find it hard to believe that Max & Chloe would just drive off without checking on anyone but I also understand that the ending isn't about other people. By choosing to sacrifice Arcadia Bay we have chosen cast aside all others into the literal unknown. We are told that the endings are shaped by our own understandings of the characters. So while objectively there are just two our own interpretations based on how we see the characters, shaped by the decisions we made, mean eveyone can fill in the gaps their own way and everyone's interpretation beyond what we are shown is equally valid as their own story. The Max I played did have concern for others so would have checked on them & even though that is not explicitly shown I still believe it would have happened in the same way that I believe she has had more than two meals this week, but we don't need to see that as it isn't the focal point of the story at the time.

Oh yes, that's one of the best. Too bad it's... almost discontinued, practically no new text for a month now. And it's only dealing with THREE DAYS after the storm... with more than 200000 words.
Mature content begins in second half of first chapter, btw. Then it gets even... more intense.
So if you're not into something like that, leave it alone. The story is great, however.

There are a few fics dealing with "what after", best of them are (in my opinion) "Life becomes even Stranger" (one mentioned above), "Life Goes On[archiveofourown.org]", "Safe and Sound[archiveofourown.org]" and "All wounds[archiveofourown.org]" (although I don't like where it leads after timeskip, and how can you fail to save Kate?...).

There are also several really great fics that deal with "Max goes back through photo, but CAN NOT let Chloe die... what happens next?".
I've ran out of pricefield fanfics witch are strict in-univierse about three weeks ago, and am running dry on "single change (mostly 'Max goes back, but does not let Chloe die', but several... others)" AU-ones.

Sorry everyone , but the only survivor from the city is the woman living in the back of the diner ( if you warned her for the tornado ) . All the others are dead . Why would they be dead you will say ?

Well when Max use the pic to come back to Chloe ( after being freed from Jefferson ) , she appear at the party and Chloe and her pass all the night in Chloe's home , so the results are :

1- Max isn't captured by Jefferson and so she don't have to come back in town with his car .
2- The truck driver is stuck near his truck and die
3- the photographer is killed by a panel because he don't take care and he take pics in place of run .
4- The fat girl dies because she is stuck in a home and Max is not here to save her
5- the fisherman die in the house facing the diner because Max is not here to save him .
6- All the peoples in the dinner ( Joyce , Franck , the dog , the policeman , and Warren ) die because Max isn't here to avoid the diner to explode .

Now what Chloe and max are doing after leaving the town ... Well i hope Max give a kiss to Chloe because she dont do if you save her . This is the bad point , Chloe need to be sacrified if you want kiss Chloe actually so i really hope that after leaving town they are endlessly kiss :)

I won't mourn Evan (it's not the storm that kills him, it's his stupidity), I still think Alyssa and trucker had all the means to save themselves, and fisherman... well, if you try to hide from the storm in a building that is half collapsed and is already full of hazards, get the darwin award.
The people in Two Whales are very, very probably dead, or at least severely crippled by explosion.

They will have time for that. It's not... the right moment to kiss when you see the tornado which Max thinks she created (I disagree) is ravaging your hometown.

Now what they do after :

They leave the town and after few years , max become a known photographer . She live with Chloe , and they are totally in love . Chloe work into a bank ( she was good with numbers remember :) ) and they both adopted a cat that they named Rachel .

They both jump from the next bridge (Because they killed everyone) or max still have to rescue chloe because you can not trick death.

How do you know Max didn't still save all of them on the way to the beach? There's at least a 12 hour gap between convincing Chloe to hide out at her house and when we return to the pair of them on the beach with the storm raging, about to head to the lighthouse. If you look at a map of Arcadia Bay, Chloe's house is on a road that leads straight down to the beach and on the corner of that road and the coast road is the Two Whales. If we assume Max & Chloe took the most direct route to the beach on the way to the lighthouse (and why wouldn't they) then they passed the diner.

I agree. I can't imagine Max & Chloe skipping time without checking on anyone. I would assume the scene when they're leaving is a few days later after they check in with everyone. Also, I believe Chloe's home is near the lighthouse which would give them time to go...figure some stuff out and then leave after making sure their loved ones are okay...

Wow! This is a great fanfic! THanks for sharing Jeckenn. I was just skipping ahead a little and I see what you mean about the X-rated part. Really not needed, but still a good story!

Agreed. The ending is very open ended and left to our imagination. I would have preferred an ending where Max decides at the last minute to save Chloe instead of letting her die in the bathroom and takes the bullet for her....but ends up suriviving and Chloe remains alive as well and since she didn't use her powers to stop Chloe from dying the storm wouldn't approach...

Regardless...I think you're right. Not every single thing in Max and Chloe's life is shown, eating, certain chats, etc so we just have to assume some surivived.

Lol...I can totally see them having a cat named Rachel ;-) I like the idea of Chloe working at a bank. I can see her eventually going to school to become a private investigator too ;-) She made a pretty good detective with Max lol

Lol. I'm sure it's MUCH needed! I literally just discovered the game last week and finished it a few days ago and now I'm obsessed and can't stop thinking about it. Such an emotional rollercoster. Didn't know communites, fanpages & these fanfics even existed..So I'm sure others would get a lot of benefit from a fanfic thread..

I'm thinking of writing one based on a self sacrifice ending I've been thinking of which I think would work great which I've posted in a thread or two here.

I say create the fanfic thread. I bet it will be popular ;-)
