Buying Original or Remastered
Hey all,

I was wondering which version of the game I should play, the original or the remastered. The remastered is on sale for $20 and that includes the Before the Storm Episodes as well. I know all the episodes for this game are also $20 but doesn't have the prologue.

I've seen in some Steam reviews of the remastered version that it has bugs. So I was just wondering if those bugs are very apparent or if they just happen every once and a while and if it is worth it over the original version.

I had the original (never played), was going to get the remaster but decided not to and I just finished the original version and I'm happy with it. No bugs at all.

For a while I was trying to decide if I should buy the remaster too but I decided I wanted to experience the game as it originally was made. Besides the bugs in the remaster a few people mentioned what I feared (and how I felt about the Walking Dead remaster):
Is that you grow to like the original graphics and the new graphics kill the feel or just hamper the experience. That's when I decided against buying the remaster.

Still a lot of people love the remaster, if you don't own any of them I would probably get the remaster so you're not 'spoiled' by the original lol

Edit: I just checked the remaster forums and two things: it's developed by a different company and the bugs are still there and they will not be patching it any further. I would say avoid it.

I just bought the bundle a few days ago. The first game had bugs that prevented me from playing- the cursor would not align over objects, so I couldn't inspect or use them. Tried on my computer, and my boyfriend's, to no avail. Had to return. I'd suggest buying the original to avoid this frustration. But Steam is fairly lenient on returns, so maybe buy it to try it, and return it if it doesn't work.

There is one gameplay change that I noticed - the notorious bottle hunt minigame is made slightly easier by having additional bottles spawn. It's possible there are other changes I simply didn't notice.

The original is actually better all the way around. One thing they did was take the cut scenes out before each chapter, but that really added to the experience of playing the game the first time. In addition, the remake is buggy.

Yeah, after reading all the comment on this post, I am going to get the original.
