the game is fantastic! I think the main characters are most likely left leaning, which occasionally comes through, in jokes, thoughts and dialogue, but there isn't once a moment, where this matters that much and politics never play a major role, if at all.
To be fully honest though, your wording tells me, you wouldn't enjoy it lol

I noticed it tries to be, but in an american kind of way. Here in europe we do deal with things differently (for as long as it will last).

If you're the type who would ask a question like that then I'd give this game a miss and I wish people would stop lumping in social liberalism (in the American sense) and leftism. There were and are plenty of people who would happily identify as one and hate the other.
