Honestly, how many of you saved Kate first time?

I got lucky. I must have had enough Kate points when I started, and I *know* I guessed the right answer at least twice.

If I hadn't I absolutely would have started the chapter over, ain't no WAY anyone dies on MY watch if I can help it.

I saved her on my first try, after looking at everything in her room.

I remember I missed the answer about her parents (I mentioned her mother), and when she stepped a bit back I thought I had screwed up.

Well, it was so easy, so I even didn't know it possible to fail. It seemed like you don't have choice to let her die and gonna save her no matter what, just like you "save" Chloe in bathroom.
Later I was surprised when I found people have problems to save her.
On my third playtrough, when i played "Bad Max", I let her die. It was easy, but not because I didn't picked "right" answers, but because I picked answers, which looks obviously "wrong". And wrong answers looks pretty damn obviously.

Yes she does. Nathan gets arrested after shooting Chloe, rats out Jefferson, so the Dark Room is discovered and everything that Jefferson did, including what happened to Kate.
Kate then has no reason to commit suicide anymore since the truth is known.

Ok, I can accept all that, but I thought that the party and Kate's fall from grace (for lack of a better term) happened before Max got her powers. She's being bullied by Victoria and already looks a mess when Max talks to her in the classroom in the begining. Nathan admitting his ♥♥♥♥♥♥ behavior wouldn't stop Victoria from being ♥♥♥♥♥♥, would it?

I saved her, but to do that I read a walkthrough advice on the net. It was not fair, but just didn't want it to happen at that moment. And on my second playthrough I already knew what to do. Maybe next time I will go for it just to see how Max deals with that.

Samuel speaks about it. Because Kate made the action without Max using her power to manipulate Kate was in control of her own fate.

Kate made a choice on her own and that's her fate.

You can puzzle the rest of the plot. If you didn't saved Kate you didn't saved her later on. That's how things works in the game. The camera fell to the ground and was damaged and it couldn't be changed.
