So, do alternate realities exist? (SPOILERS)
So, I thought the short conversation with the other Max in the "nightmare" segment of the game was interesting. She claims to be one of the Maxes "left behind." And there was a couple of brief mentions of "messing up" realities or timelines (I can't remember specifically).

Is there reason to believe that when Max changes the timeline using the photo trick, or even rewinding time, that she's creating a new reality rather than just rewriting the same timeline? I kind of like the idea of a Max being trapped in a hellish, broken reality, becoming jaded over time and lashing out at the Max we play as.

Side note, I was really interested to know what the Max from the timeline where William doesn't die was like. She seemed to be less of a good person, maybe even a bad person. She's friends with the cool kids, was rather cold towards Chloe who ended up paralyzed, and was spending more money than she should (we can read a text from her mother).

Have you ever played Bioshock Infinite or read about the multi-verse theory? Well, to simplify things, those alternate realities already existed, in fact, there are millions and millions of different versions of Max, she didn't create any of them, she just "jumped" to a different one when she rewinded and saved William. The universe where he didn't die and Chloe got in a car crash already existed, according to the multi-verse theory.

Basically, everytime you're confronted with a choice (directly or indirectly), it's like the universe splits itself based on the number of options. For example: If someone offers you to choose between strawberry or chocolate icecream, the universe divides itself in three: In one of them, you chose the strawberry, in another, the chocolate one, and on a third, you denied both (something like that, it was a bad example, I admit).

So, every time you suppress an impulse - there is one reality you'll do it..
What a lovely idea, isn't it?

Just by chance, wouldn't we see a lot more people doing weird things?

So, do we think the nightmare Max was real or just fantasy?

It depends on if you believe the beginning of the game was a reality or a fantasy

The nightmare Max is just a random version of Max or is Maxine? (Wheelchair Chloe)
You know when Max left the timeline, Maxine get conscious probably and she'll had serious problems with William. Of course she'll not even remember how from the school end up in Chloe house etc. Or this timeline just erased?

Another thing that struck me as weird was her nosebleed when she gets to the gallery. If the timeline is changed, why is she still affected by her time power? Why does the trip on the plane still look like she is in a photograph?
