It's never said, that she lost her powers after she sacrificed Chloe. All we know is, that she didn't use it to save Chloe in the bathroom. There's the same chance for both endings, that she still has the power.
We don't know what Max is doing after the funeral. Maybe she goes back to her normal life, maybe not. We just don't know anything about the time after.
But i would see it completely in the opposite direction. For me a continuation of the BAY ending is potentially much more appealing. Driven by pain and grief Max could start another attempt to save Chloe after some time. A good writer could certainly get a lot out of it. I somehow see more potential in this kind of story than in a story set after the BAE end.
That's the reason why it's not gonna happen. When they can't find a way to merge the two endings into one story after a short amount of time in the game then they'd have to make two different games for each ending.
But i think if they would ever do this, it could only be worse. They have created a masterpiece with their story. If they continue they may damage the whole thing ;)
There are two endings to the original Life is Strange and in one of those endings Chloe is still alive and well so SE owing the rights to that says they will end up finding another developer like Deck Nine to do more stories about Max and or Chloe.
We need only look at other property rights that SE owns the rights to, to see that they do FLOG any property they own to its maximum, as an example I will point out Final Fantasy and say that in that franchise they have something like 16 games. The life is Strange franchise with Max and Chloe has two games this leaves us with 14 more possibilities for games in the LiS franchise with Max and Chloe.
YES it will happen, it won't happen with Dontnod as the developer however they are not the only developer on SE's payroll and SE also seeks out new developers that they have never worked with before to make new games, so the possibilities are nearly endless.
Before the Storm is happening not only because the fans are curious about Rachel's story, but it's also a really good idea for expanding the LiS universe, and Deck Nine as the developer was choosen not because Square Enix TELL them to but because they WANTED to, they have a great point of view from DONTNOD's masterpiece LiS so they want to contribute for the franchise, DONTNOD sees it as a great thing for the fans and the game therefore Square Enix give them the will and power to develop the game.
Conclusion : As much as the fans and ME wanting the continuation of Max and Chloe's story, i don't think i want it to be a real thing either, plus we already have the comic, and better yet it's official not a fanfic, so no need to desperately asking for a sequel, no need to pull a Deus Ex : Machina on LiS, the story is told and let's just leave it that way.

Yes. And if you turn the image by 180 degrees, you will realize, that it's not water on the street, but Max standing in front of the storm. It's a nice cover that let you speculate about the content.
