Choices Don’t Matter
If there is only one decision at the end of the game that determines your ending, then the choices don’t matter. It would have been better if multiple decisions affected the ending and the final decision was automatic depending on previous decisions.

It's disappointing yes, but it was one great experience after all

Yes, it would be nice if the decisions throughout decided the ending. Think Catherine as a good example.

I would far rather that they concentrate on creating a good story with well written characters like they did then spend more of the budget on making choices matter more...

Your choices build up your experience of this story of Chloe Price and Max Caulfield, so they do matter. Also, you don't own the game copy.

Console, and it would be better if your story would have an effect on your ending. It’s very disconnected

Yes he don't own the game, because he like to complain on games he don't own.

OP: It's a story choice, it's telling you that just like life no matter what you do you will die, so you can't change the ending.

The ending is the same, only the way of life change.

Yeah, they don't. The choices throughout the game are more of a tool which contribute to your experience of how you've dealt with people and circumstances before you get to the inevitable ending(s). Yeah, it's a bummer that there couldn't be more endings, but i guess it's kind of meant to be that way. The whole point of the concept of butterfly effect is inevitability.

Choose your own adventure game, the game is set to be never played more than once because it's the reason why people complain about it. The only way to solve this would be to make the ending a permanent choice on your version of the game. No matter how many times you replay the game you can't change the ending you made the first time. Someone else made a different choice but this is a question: should Life is strange be an online game where your choices are permanent? the cloud recognize what choice you made and it's like a fanservice. Thank you for playing our game but now you reached game over. You made your chocie and playing the game a second time won't change this, just like in online games a choice you make is permanent. When you lost you gear you lost your gear and the cognitive part doesn't work anymore. Because if it's offline some will make sure to make the game replayable with open endings.

Actually choices matter, maybe not for the end, but the change how episodes play out within the larger narrative that is the story. If you want to see a Life is Strange game where choices to not matter at all, feel free to play season 2.

THAT is where choices do not matter.

Are there any games like this where choices *truly* matter? I mean, imagine how large a game would have to be if it had dozens of branching choices from start to finish? It wouldn't be very feasible.

The choices will alter things slightly here and there, but in the end things do have to become pretty linear. But it's a story driven game throughout and that's what makes the game good or bad.

Well if you're talking about AAA games like the recent PS4 exclusives Detroit that's a big change for choice-based story games, but LiS is an indiea game so don't expect too much of it, but here we are now LiS has made a huge impact on everyone despite it's flaws and everything

Yes, I agree. Just 2 choices at the end. It does not really matter...
And it is kind of disappointing. Although it was a nice (sometimes toooo slow / boring / cliché) game ride :Camera: :LIS_butterfly:

I just finished the game, so the experience is fresh. Yeah, two choices at the ending. But I tihkn it depends how you played the game. How well you know or love people of Arcadia Bay. After Episode 1 I 100% choose SPOILERS!!! Chloe then Arcadia Bay. But at the Episode 5 you can even start to lie David, Victoria or even Frank.

Maybe the game could count how many reiwnds, changes you through the game. If less the storm maybe not destroy Arcadia Bay, maybe someone survive it.
