(Spoilers) How important are the choices?
I'm playing LIS for the first time and I just finished the first episode. The choices I made until now, like telling the principal, that the guy had a gun changed something, but it didn't seem that important. The only thing, that happened for this choice, was, The guy attacked me, while I was talking to Warren, Warren fought him and then Chloe came and saved me.

Will those choices carry over to the other episodes, or will choices only cause small context-changes per episode?

It is really hard to give a precise answer without spoiling anything, so I have to be a bit vague here. Like the game says, your choices will have consequences. They carry over between episodes and different choices will lead to different situations, dialogue choices and scenes later on. Do the choices completely change the scope and narrative of the game? No.

I would recommend to try and look at it this way: the choices you make during the game are very personal and shape the way you engage and interact with the characters and the story and ultimately impact how you will experience the game as a whole. You will reach the conclusion of the narrative eventually, but the way you got there will be defined by the choices you made.

Thanks for your reply and info. So, those choices are very important, then. I also looked through my choices again and I found the point, that says "You didn't leave any evidence" while I looked for tools to fix my camera and that wasn't important, yet. So, I suppose it will be later.

Its about the same level of importance as choices in the Telltale games like "Walking Dead".
They shape the narrative and may lead to different dialog or small changes to some scenes but they will not hugely impact the main story, no.
You will always end up at the same places, regardless what you do.
That is nothing bad but its the typical way those games go. Its more about shaping the characters and the tone of the story then completely changing it.

That would be expecting a bit much from a 15 bucks indie game.

Don't worry about your choice, dude, just choose what you think is right for you. After all game you can read about "choice" at wiki.

Good game, this is awesome experience. :LIS_butterfly:

upd: and yep, answer on your qustion - it's spoiler, dude :0

Choices in Life is Strange are a lot more important than the large majority of other games, they will actively affect how events unfold - however, it's still an episodic video game, not a sandbox. There aren't different episodes, characters or a dozen alternative endings depending on your choices.

the choices you make will affect how you relate to everyone. and in turn how you see them. in the last episode you will directly choose your ending. what you think of everyone is probably how you will make it

That depends. Some choices affect only a few dialogue lines, some have a rather major effect on the later events, including other characters's reaction to Max. But most importantly, all your choices build up your experience of this story of Chloe and Max, the way it goes in your world.

The importance here is placed on the individual and their bias, theres no right nor worng answers here say for the 'weight' you feel upon the choices made and how you deal with it, do you share it out or carry it for others? The thing i love about these titles is that your basically playing against 'yourself' which is the best way to approach it, no scoreboards or expectations, just take it as a journey

To be honest here is one "right or wrong" answer in the game. I'm talking about Bae, of course ;)

I finished episode 3 now and it's already one of the best games, I've ever played. I guessed, that choices won't change the whole game to something completely different. They just alter the way you (or Max) experience the timeline after the choice was made, but that's completely fine.
The story and the characters are so well written and I can't wait to play the next episodes... the only downside is, there are only two left. :steamsad:

If I understood correctly... Yes, everyone is still alive. :steamhappy:

Finish the game first, after that you can think about it.
Life is Strange is a experience, not a game :LIS_butterfly:

At the end of the game there are just 2 (two) choices. So all other choices / decisions are almost not...really important. PS: Life is Strange is...just a game.

Wait 20 years, then you will see it was just a game :steambored:
