Seriously, I would expect no major news on this until something definte and specific is announced, like screenplay writers or casting. Even then it's not going to be 100% guaranteed to follow through.
No clue if they plan to do anything with it or just sitting on it. In any case we are YEARS away from a possible tv series at this point.

Honestly I bet the rights change hands a few times before anyone acutally does anything with it and I really doubt anything will come out of this until Dontnod releases Life is Strange 2 and IF that is as big a hit game as the first one well LiS TV series WILL get made if it is a big hit, no doubt about it...
So a lot rides on how well LiS 2 does and how it adds to the franchise...
Not sure if that works as LiS was designed as an interactive Story / Game with different choices the player has to decide. Creating a TV-Show on this idea won't be that easy, you won't be able to "do" Max's choices. And with that, LiS would lose much of its core character, it would be a pity if they'd mess it up

I killed one Rick, the thing I love most in the world
I think that would be pretty boring. Just another highschool teen drama. That doesn't necessarily have to be bad, but it would be a big disappointment to me, if the series doesn't include Max and Chloe and their journey from LIS season 1, including all the time travel mystery stuff and the storm. And without different choices and endings they can also continue their story without problems. Besides the problem, of course, that they have to do it without an original story from Dontnod :)
But i doubt that HULU will do something with the license in the near future. Maybe after the release of LIS season 2, if it's a huge success. I wonder if their license include also the stuff of the upcoming game. But i don't think so.
Yeah you all are right, but on the other hand it can't just be a copy of the original storyline, that would be boring too... not to mention it WOULD most likely suck if they just copied the original story because there is absolutely no mystery as to what is going to happen next...
You have definitely a point here, but it's common for such adaptions of books or games for television to change certain things. Maybe some changes are even mandatory, if they plan for more seasons.
But even if they follow the exact story of the game, i would love to see it, with real actors in a real setting. But the casting must be very, very good to find appropriate actresses for Max and Chloe. Otherwise most of the LIS fans won't like the show :D
Regarding the "no mystery" thing. That can be true, but you have to consider that the show will probably be watched more by people who don't know the game.
