If the tornado is caused by Max's time manipulation, then why does not the tornado follow Max to San Francisco? In the reality where she wins the contest....

If the "time gods" are really upset with Max's actions, then wouldn't they hit the tornado wherever she is?

Makes me think, it may be true that the tornado is indeed Rachels revenge?

In "winning contest" line at least Max uses it to some extent (like saving Chloe from Nathan and, possibly, train). In "William alive" line it's unlikely that there was any reason for her to do so, and still all anomalies happened.

So yeah, it's probably Rachel's revenge.

Exactly. Also, the finale of the scene at the oak tree and fire getting extinguished right after Rachel getting almost dead.

The events are tied to arcadia bay. If max causes the twister through her time twisting the storm event would be tied to the location, not the agent.

I imagine the first break of time as planting the seed of the storm and all the subsequent rewinds as feeding the seed until it becomes the storm. The storm, in this hypothsis, isnt the result of an inteligent agency but rather of temporal laws and balance, much like a real world storm is the result of inbalances of heat in the earths atmosphere.

I have not though/read much about the idea of rachel's revenge. In my mind, however, she seems more associated with fire. In LiS if she is the doe it seems like her main function is to get max to the lighthouse in time to make THE choice.

I think the theory is that the power in Arcadia Bay and Max is better described as an avatar or a terminal for its influence. She *uses* the power but it’s not hers, herself.

The bay itself is a player too. There is more than one comment in the game about how it is a strange place. Kinda like Twin Peaks.

The storm wipes out the consequences of time manipulation.

All the consequences are found in Arcadia Bay.

The farther the timeline moves away from reality, the more severe the Universe's response becomes.

So a girl is saved who should have died. Response = a category 6 (unprecedented) tornado tears a coastal town apart.

When all this is said, I don't think the bathroom scene is the first time Chloe should have died but somebody saved her by manipulating space and time ;)

Hmmm, Weirdmageddon takes place in Gravity Falls, Oregon in August, 22-25, 2012, and The Storm hits (or doesn't hit) Arcadia Bay on October 11, 2013.

What I remember the storm is prevented because a butterfly flaps its wings on Chloe's Coffin.

Some want to believe it's the rage of Rachel. The butterfly was ecstatic when we met it in the bathroom almost like a spirit(plausible true,Rachel is dead by the time)
It flapped in hype when Chloe died and then Max came and ruined everything.

If it was Rachel's revenge she was the blue butterfly.
