Petition to Save Rachel in a new game!
I made this: http://chng.it/kXWpfbwk to start a petition for a new game. Here's the info (you can find the same info inside the link):
Long story short: Rachel has been missing for 6 months, yet there the body found in Life is Strange Episode 4 smells like it hasn't been there for such a long time. Since we didn't get to see the body to ID and no clear explanation has been given by Dontnod, I believe that we should get a 3rd installment to life is strange where we can save Rachel. We don't need to back to time and f*ck it up again, since in this scenario, Rachel isn't dead.

I thought about the story and gameplay a little too. We can play both as Chloe and Max. Chloe has her backtalk abilities while Max is better at hiding, sneaking.

The story is about tracking down Rachel which has been over-dosed and fell into a comma somewhere in another state. For the most part of the game the goal would be to find her and then to kinda survive since umm... You bscly destroyed a town by saving Chloe. And this is the bad part... The canon choice would be to sacrifice Arcadia Bay to save Chloe so as to let this game's events take place. So if you decided that one's life... What am I saying... Chloe's life wasn't as worthy as everyone else's in Arcadia Bay, well, sucks for you :P (How can you live with yourself if you picked that option ?). So yeah, a new character get playable at this point (I mean Rachel of course) and her ability is to lie to people (since she has such amazing acting skills) to get what she wants. The goal of this part of this game would be to leave for L.A. That's a happy ending with Rachel becoming an actress, Max a photographer and Chloe... Idk. Guess the last decision you get to make is what Chloe will do with her life. I'd really pay a fortune to play this. Please, make it happen.

I support your petition. Rachel is an amazing character who deserves all the best.
However, some points of your theory requires clarification.
The body found in the junkyard must stink, but the main thing is that this body cannot be identified without special expertise. Even Chloe recognized only the earring.
On this forum there is the theory which will explain in more these and other details of the Rachel story.
*SPOILER* Ultimate theory about Rachel Amber

I don't know whether to sign your petition or not. First of all, you're canonising one of the endings. The developers have left it clear that they don't want to, they are leaving it to the players. While *my* canon ending is the Bae ending, I don't feel like I should force it to others. Secondly, the body not being Rachel is very far-fetched. I really, really wished it wasn't her body, but that would just be a plothole visible from outer space. Don't you think Chloe would have recognised Rachel's clothes when digging the hole? And why would Jefferson text Chloe saying that he's glad she saw Rachel one last time? Why would Jefferson go to the junkyard if that wasn't Rachel? What about "Rachel IS here"? There would have to be a whole conspiracy in Arcadia Bay to fake the death of a teenage girl, and by the clues we gathered, that doesn't seem likely. She was a Dark Room victim, like the other girls in the binders. Jefferson would know what really happened to her.

There are ways to make a game where Rachel is alive and well, but I don't think it's the way you're suggesting. We can't just erase Episode 4 from existence.
We got to see like 5 pixels of umm... What was that we saw ? Didn't look like a body at all. Here's my theory on the matter.
First of all, devs wanted to continue the storyline based on Rachel/Max/Chloe but changed their mind later, saying that Rachel's dead. We don't ge to actually see the body to ID it. Max only saw her on the missing person's poster, Chloe had time with her in Before the Storm, but she already had the belief that she was about to find her best friend/lover buried there. So that might have been deceptive. The devs could easily get Chloe to retrieve her unique blue earring if they wanted, to assure us she was dead. But they didn't. That's why I believe that their intentions with Rachel changed along the way. Also, Jefferson didn't kill her, Nathan over-dosed her. So, an afraid Nathan disposed what seemed to him like a dead body. What if it she wasn't dead ? What if she fell into a comma because of the dosage she had been injected ? The body found in the junkyard, might be someone else's. In the Dark Room there are at least 10 more files of people that have been through the whole process with Jefferson. Additionally, Rachel was missing for 6+ months. When Max and Chloe found "her body", it was still smelling. How a body buried for so long can still smell ? Spoiler: It can't. It must be someone else's body.
And we can eliminate the need to canonize any ending. Just continue either with different ways based on your choice at the end of LiS or completely ignore it in the new game. No need to refer it.
Idk. I just don't believe that the body there belongs to Rachel.
No like if it was such a major character's death, I'd expect at least a reveal of the body or smth.

The developer said in interviews that it was 100% Rachel in the scrap yard grave.
The ghost doe is her spirit and is leading Max on since the beginning.
Sorry, Rachel is 100% dead and will stay 110% dead.

All these ideas about new games to save this person or make that outcome happy are TERRIBLE.
You are destroying the whole foundation of what makes Life is Strange such a memorable game.
Nobody would care about this game with some generic happy end for everyone.

Thats terrible storytelling. Go read fanfiction for that.

Also Rachel is a terrible person who betrayed Chloe behind her back to ♥♥♥♥ around with Frank. Who wants to save someone like that?

It is not required. Fans have offered many options for starting a new game taking into account all the decisions.

Changing clothes is the easiest problem for someone who plans such the falsification.

The video surveillance system was working in the dark room. Jefferson saw and heard everything Max and Chloe said.

He wanted to trap Max and Chloe. They saw the dark room and could expose Jefferson.

What about "Rachel IS here"?
What about the Frank's handwriting used to write those words? But Frank claimed he didn't know about the grave at the junkyard.
Someone forged his handwriting and he-she wasn't Jefferson.

One district attorney is enough for such the "conspiracy". He may also be the coroner (or the coroner may be his deputy).
James Amber is able to play the role of inconsolable father.

In both games, we do not need to erase anything. There contains information that can be interpreted in many ways.
It's has never been cleared what happend with Frank, so I don't think Rachel is a traitor. She is an amazing character with so little on screen time and lots of possibilities for a future game.
read the comics instead if you really want to know about what happened to them after the storm.

If you can't envision, I'll help you. Imagine an individual who
recollects that Rachel was among complete strangers at the age of 15-16 years;
keeps in mind about the blood oath Frank demanded;
remembers that the games do not have accurate information about when Rachel started dating Frank;
learns many other details about an amazing character named Rachel Amber;
knows that she is an admirable person;
is sure that your 110% will remain in your dreams only.

It's like an average fanfic that shows some very different Rachel. It seems the comic authors did not play Before the Storm.

You mean the prequel game from another studio that itself is nothing but slightly better fanfiction with tons of continuity errors to the first game?
Before the Storm was really good. What didn't you like ?

Agreed. I even liked Before the Storm more than I liked the original.
