However, some points of your theory requires clarification.
The body found in the junkyard must stink, but the main thing is that this body cannot be identified without special expertise. Even Chloe recognized only the earring.
On this forum there is the theory which will explain in more these and other details of the Rachel story.
*SPOILER* Ultimate theory about Rachel Amber

There are ways to make a game where Rachel is alive and well, but I don't think it's the way you're suggesting. We can't just erase Episode 4 from existence.
First of all, devs wanted to continue the storyline based on Rachel/Max/Chloe but changed their mind later, saying that Rachel's dead. We don't ge to actually see the body to ID it. Max only saw her on the missing person's poster, Chloe had time with her in Before the Storm, but she already had the belief that she was about to find her best friend/lover buried there. So that might have been deceptive. The devs could easily get Chloe to retrieve her unique blue earring if they wanted, to assure us she was dead. But they didn't. That's why I believe that their intentions with Rachel changed along the way. Also, Jefferson didn't kill her, Nathan over-dosed her. So, an afraid Nathan disposed what seemed to him like a dead body. What if it she wasn't dead ? What if she fell into a comma because of the dosage she had been injected ? The body found in the junkyard, might be someone else's. In the Dark Room there are at least 10 more files of people that have been through the whole process with Jefferson. Additionally, Rachel was missing for 6+ months. When Max and Chloe found "her body", it was still smelling. How a body buried for so long can still smell ? Spoiler: It can't. It must be someone else's body.
The ghost doe is her spirit and is leading Max on since the beginning.
Sorry, Rachel is 100% dead and will stay 110% dead.
All these ideas about new games to save this person or make that outcome happy are TERRIBLE.
You are destroying the whole foundation of what makes Life is Strange such a memorable game.
Nobody would care about this game with some generic happy end for everyone.
Thats terrible storytelling. Go read fanfiction for that.
Also Rachel is a terrible person who betrayed Chloe behind her back to ♥♥♥♥ around with Frank. Who wants to save someone like that?
Changing clothes is the easiest problem for someone who plans such the falsification.
The video surveillance system was working in the dark room. Jefferson saw and heard everything Max and Chloe said.
He wanted to trap Max and Chloe. They saw the dark room and could expose Jefferson.
What about the Frank's handwriting used to write those words? But Frank claimed he didn't know about the grave at the junkyard.
Someone forged his handwriting and he-she wasn't Jefferson.
One district attorney is enough for such the "conspiracy". He may also be the coroner (or the coroner may be his deputy).
James Amber is able to play the role of inconsolable father.
In both games, we do not need to erase anything. There contains information that can be interpreted in many ways.
recollects that Rachel was among complete strangers at the age of 15-16 years;
keeps in mind about the blood oath Frank demanded;
remembers that the games do not have accurate information about when Rachel started dating Frank;
learns many other details about an amazing character named Rachel Amber;
knows that she is an admirable person;
is sure that your 110% will remain in your dreams only.
It's like an average fanfic that shows some very different Rachel. It seems the comic authors did not play Before the Storm.
You mean the prequel game from another studio that itself is nothing but slightly better fanfiction with tons of continuity errors to the first game?
Damn.
